Great school with a wide range of programs, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. However, I wish the certification process was quicker. When students are paying out of pocket for their education, they should be able to receive their certification immediately or within a couple of days after completing the program. Instead, I was informed that it takes 10 business days, which seems unusually long. On top of that, students have to return to pick it up, which can be inconvenient especially if the person lives far. The school should consider streamlining this process to make it more efficient and convenient for students.

I was a student there back in 2022-2023. I was enrolled in billing and coding. I withdrew due to not liking what I was doing. Last week I applied for massage therapy. I was told by Kim Colbert the school director to come in when I was able to. I drove 2 hrs to go there. They had me fill out all the paperwork and complete financial aid. I was scheduled an appt for a week later. They called me on the phone stating since I was already there once and withdrew out of billing and coding I was no longer a fit for the school and couldn’t go back there. I’m the one paying for the education. I have the right to change my mind if I don’t like what I was taking. Because I didn’t like what I was doing and withdrew Kim Colbert told me I can’t go back there. What kind of nonsense is this? I’m being punished for changing my mind and withdrawing? Drive elsewhere. Do not choose this location. NJ has 4 locations. Drive the extra couple hours.

This institution is very clean.; The staff is super friendly and easy to talk to. Brittany is an angel he energy is unmatched this is the place to be check them out u will be glad u did.

This is my second review on this school. When I began the program it was all good and dandy but once I started to go through term 1 I found that there was flaws with the anatomy and physiology instructor I’ve never failed any other anatomy and physiology class that I’ve taken in person but I failed hers my 5 points. She had an attitude if you asked if she could go back a slide so you could get the notes. The other instructors were great like Ms Liz Kate and Darcy. As I finished term 1 I passed the scan lab protocol and my other three classes but I didn’t move on to term 2 because I failed Anatomy and physiology. So as I’m repeating the class there’s a different instructor she seemed okay in the beginning but things went south when I asked her about my grade I went from a 95% to an 85% because she said I plagiarized mind you they plagiarized as well because all of the answer are from Quizlet. I spoke to Melissa about and she was being argumentative with me and asking me where I got my answers from. That was strike 1 for me. So then two weeks went by and I got another 0 talking about I plagiarized because I didn’t cite where I got my information from I put the information in my own wording but Melissa copy and pasted what I used and posted it to the question. I used information that the instructor had told me to help me answer the question. That was the second strike mind you was traveling from Stratford Ct to West Hartford to get to campus for 8am and I was always the first one there. If that wasn’t dedication I don’t what is lol like I really wanted to finish the program. However to make a long story short would I recommend the program probably not I feel like I wasted my time.

Kathy was extremely nice as a person very welcoming. As far as signing up for the program she was very discouraging. She told me there was no way I can work full time be a parent and attend this school. I completed the enrollment she then signed me up for financial aid. I asked to reschedule my financial aid until my transcript came in. She refused said we can still do everything without the transcript. I completed everything went through all the paperwork just for Kathy to ask for my transcript 2 days after. 2 seconds after receiving them she called me to say I can’t start because the trade school I went to didn’t offer enough credits for the program. She then went on to say “you can do one of the other programs offered here just not this one” “or you can go to college for two years and come back after”. She doesn’t have a heart when it comes to people feelings after they’re told a start date and graduation date then can’t do it. Things happen for a reason and after reading the reviews I should’ve went with my gut the first encounter with her and left.

My experience so far has been wonderful. It started out rocky and has gotten Better as I have completed my mods. If you are not used to going to classes online it does take some getting used to. I can say I have had a lot of encouragement and help from the instructors and even the program director. This program is fast paced. They offer a variety of hands on learning methods which really works best for me! I’ll update my review when I graduate!

Update: I graduated in January. I had a lot of help with job placement. I’m in an urgent care center and I love it. I have been offered many opportunities based on my experience with America institution! I have sat for the rma and passed😊♥️

I absolutely love The American Institute. The West Hartford Campus is absolutely amazing. Ever since enrolling with Jason my life has been positively progressing. Jason signed me up back in august. He told me how great this school is as well as the director of my program who is also my teacher, Beth Canny. She is an outstanding, loving, caring teacher. She makes herself available for help at any hour of the day. She always has an open door, and can always assure you that you are capable of this program. She’s hands down the most amazing teacher I’ve personally ever had and I’m so grateful to be apart of the AI family. Jason was awesome in telling me about the program and how nice this school truly is. The school always has its students at heart, and not only while in the building but at home as well. They are always finding ways to help students needs. I am constantly telling family and friends about how amazing the American Institute is.

I just got accepted into the Diagnostic Medical Sonography here at American Institute. The Admission Rep Ms Kathy was Amazing!! She answered all of my questions and concerns. I was given a tour prior to signing up for the program and they are fully equipped with all of the Sonography training need. Long story short run don’t walk and sign up for the upcoming training you won’t be disappointed..
