They provide a lovely venue for me to see my daughter who lives with her mother. Inside are Chuckles (the dove), Mary (the owl), Sydney (the lizard), Milkshake and ET (the snakes), Tripod the turtle and many others. Outside is a lovely playground, sports fields, and a pond. A very splendid place and they're open 7 days.

We truly enjoyed our visit, they have a great park for both small kids and big. We walked to the pond which was so beautiful and had little turtles. Plenty of parking spots, and overall a great place to go with the kids.

We felt so lucky to stumble on a "Creature Feature" show Saturday, and were the only people there! Our 1yo got to touch every creature, from a ball python to a dove, box turtle, bearded lizard, angora bunny, even a Madagascar hissing cockroach 😂🤢 what a hidden gem!

A lovely place for a walk around a pond. The architecture of the nature center itself is interesting. It's somewhat shaped like a star. Each leg/branch is a tiny museum upon itself. One is dedicated to creatures of the night like owls, another is about native housing, one for small creatures like lizards and tarantulas, and a final one has a turtle, rabbit, and hamster. The playground is great with a beautiful xylophone which even the non-musical can play sweet songs on.

The Ansonia Nature Center is a lovely place to visit, whether alone or with the family. Ally, the executive director, and her staff are very enjoyable to speak with and the center is very enriching to learn many things about nature or to just visit for a walk.

Great selection of animals to ignite your child's imagination. Tons of family friendly hiking, playground for all ages. And a beauty of a plot to play on.

I helped work on the playground here back in 2008 and went on a New Year's Hike on January 5, 2025.
