Apple Rehab Guilford is a great place to work! The staff are hard working, compassionate and care for each resident as they would want their loved ones to be cared for. There is an emphasis on teamwork to assure that everything that needs to be done is completed in a timely, efficient manner. We are always happy to see the smiling faces as people leave our facility on their last day after a successful rehab stay. Top notch!

I have worked at Apple Rehab Guilford for a few years, and I have to say I love my job! The staff truly cares about the residents their families and the quality of care that they receive. The environment makes everyone feel like home, the staff treats the residents as if they are family. I feel confident in the care and compassion that exists at this facility, I would recommend it to my own family.

Heartbroken over the fact that my sweet Father in Law spent the last days of his life at Apple Rehab in Guilford, CT. As if having to place a loved one in care during COVID was not difficult enough, the care he received and the communication with the family were poor at best. He was often unkempt and wearing strangers clothing during outdoor visits, if he was fully clothed at all. His personal items were lost including his personal Bible, which was eventually found. What was not recovered was his wedding ring which Yale New Haven Hospital documented that he did have with him when he was transferred to Apple. After their "internal" investigation they concluded he did not have it on him. When the family was finally able to go in to see him as he was dying they were shocked by the disheveled, rundown and dirty condition of the facility itself. Guilt over the fact that this is where he spent his last days will be with us for a very long time.
However, the most tragic part of this situation was the lack of direction, advocacy or follow up to place him on Hospice AS REQUESTED by the family to allow personal in room visits as he was rapidly declining. A plan was in place to do so, but after staff advised my 90 year old mother in law that he was 'improving' the plan was reversed. He died alone in a depressing environment. I have spoken to staff and administration and they stand by his care with no acknowledgement or apology. We will have to come to peace with the decisions we made, but I hope this review prevents the same for another family.

I love working at Apple Rehab Guiford. The staff is wonderful, the building is clean, the location is perfect for me and my short commute, the hours/schedule are relatively flexible, and the PTO is honestly the most GENEROUS benefit I have ever heard of from ANY company! 4 weeks off in your first year! Can’t beat that! I have made some great friends, and I learn so much every day. So happy to be here!

All the apple rehabs are absolutely disgusting and run down especially Guilford. You would think all the money they get from the residents they would make it more comfy and up to date being in GUILFORD instead of having old furniture and cabinets that are falling apart . The administration has no compassion or professionalism except for Cheryl . And for the people that think of sending a loved one there , I wouldn’t send my loved one to Apple because they are always understaffed which is why it’s difficult to run to a resident that is calling because the aides are tied up with another resident and the aides end up burnt out. The nurses don’t always document when a resident falls down or gets injured and when you have a trusting worker that tries to report it the administrator or nursing director is to busy to hear it. It’s very unsafe and not trustworthy enough. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy there .

Although i have only been working at Apple Rehab Guilford for a short time, i can honestly say what a great place this is to work or reside! Everyone is so welcoming and compassionate. All employees are eager to lend a helping hand and give 110% to their job and care for the residents. I have even recommended this facility to a family member and he really enjoyed his time here. He raved about the Rehab department! I highly recommend.

Apple Rehab of Guilford was the BEST place I could have ever picked for my father and I'm so grateful a friend told me about it. There are so many wonderful qualities that made Apple Rehab a perfect home for my dad. I liked how it was small and had a cozy homelike feel to it. There were daily activities that my dad was able to be a part of and music was a big part of the recreational activities. They had great musicians come in weekly and sing songs that the residents really enjoyed. The housekeeping and maintenance staff were always on top of things. Anything I needed or asked for was done immediately for my dad. However, the most important quality was the exceptional care my dad received from the entire staff. The staff are loving, caring, compassionate, helpful, friendly, understanding, empathetic, genuine and sincere. They helped my dad and our family adjust to this difficult change. The staff helped my dad physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. My dad had become very difficult at times due to his dementia and the way his caregivers loved him and treated him with respect and dignity will be something I always remember and never forgot. The day my dad passed his room was filled with extraordinary caregivers who were there to comfort my dad and our family. The love, support and warmth that filled his room that day was truly a gift. My dad's passing was beautiful and peaceful because of the kindness, compassion and warmth that was shown to my dad and our entire family.

I was sent to Apple Rehab in Guilford following a stay in the hospital involving a severe gout flare in my ankles. In the six days I was there I recovered my ability to walk sufficiently to return home with confidence. I am grateful to Apple Rehab for a pleasant environment in which to recuperate and the good offices of an excellent physical therapist (Vanessa) and the kind and solicitous nursing and personal care staff.
