Linda was very kind and helpful at the Ranger Station & recommended beautiful trails. Definitely has steep up and down hills, but it is worth it for the beautiful waterfall, flora and fauna.
After the slope, the trail is on easy terrain for families, dogs and even horses.

Get ready for A good challenging hike. Several miles of steep winding trails. Nice water falls. . I suggest going to the ranger hut and downloading the app.and get a map. your can get lost easier than you think going back you see forks in the road. Use landmarks. Bring a lot of cold water. Sun block. And good hiking shoes . I used my old boots and hurt my heals half way through this hike. Oh Well. Live and learn

We went again. There's some gross people that are trying to turn part of the shore into a nude beach .

We had an awesome hike up a very steep hill. It was a great workout for me and my wife. There are other less challenging walks as well. We'll definitely go again. There's too much to see in one weekend.

I love hiking in this area. Several trails scattered throughout. Due to the recent storms the American river water level is much higher than previous years and the color is gorgeous. Great place for anyone to spend time outdoors.

Had the most wonderful experience hiking this trail. It is absolutely breath taking and so quite. We took the walk right before sunset. It was a little chilly so bring a warm blanket or sweatshirt. Enjoy the scenery while hand in hand with that special someone. Perfect spot for a Date

Many trails from easy to difficult. Many access points to the river. Close to the city of Auburn off Interstate 80. Home to the tallest bridge in California, the Foresthill Bridge, at 730 feet.

HQ for Auburn State Rec Area. A few trailheads start here. Free parking unlike areas nearer to the river! Nicely maintained trails with plenty of wildlife and wildflowers!

Made the hike from the ranger station to no hands bridge. Definitely a little more intense because of the quick descent and ascent. Super scenic hike with lots of beautiful surroundings and views. Watch out for the rattlers! Next up lake Clementine.
