This is important, so please read. I dont know what it is, but I now am experiencing horrible vibes being around newer young adults who don't look and behave their age. Also, I've had some bad ptsd just from their bad curriculum and professors in the past here. But now I'm looking at taking classes again to pursue another transfer degree again. I was a former student here that have taken classes here back in the very early 2010s, like in 2010, it seems that things have never really changed. I've graduated, or at least transferred out of BC to a uni eventually close to mid 2010's. Honestly, there's just something about a community college like BC, or in general, with any colleges like universities now among younger people, such as gen-z's of newer students from anywhere that give an eccentric vibe. Every time I see them, they absolutely don't look like their age and they're into weird hobbies. You look at them, and compared people in the past, and a lot of newer generations of guys now do have that new strange Edgar and broccoli haircuts, and younger women seem very unknowledgable and non-chalant, and the same thing with guys. It's an annoying trend. But overall, people are indeed aging differently. Look up vsauce on youtube about how people did, in fact, did used to look older and behave and dressed differently. You can Google search this phenomena. Seriously, like I'm a millennial, 30+ (born early 90s), and I know of people and people near my age and a bit older who look young and don't even look like their age. It's just pretty crazy now how people look and behave a lot differently now than in the past. This is now becoming a thing for each generation and newer generations, and I'm sure this trend is going to continue to happen for as long as it can. By 2040 and above, we will have newer generations of adults in their 20s looking like grown 8-10 year olds. Either way, the point earlier is that I've got ptsd from some professors because there were just some bad professors and BC has been that way and many learned the hard way that not all are bad and don't teach courses and material properly, materials that are not in the book. There were strange teachers like Tarjan in Mathematics, who was just horrid. She always went long off tangents and made students look bad. Eventually, I found out about "rate my professor" site by 2015. Site is an absolute gem and a lifesaver to those who decide to take a course with a professor to see if they're the right ones you can take. I highly recommend it if you want to know people's experience with a professor teaching a curriculum and people are always honest about how they feel and what to expect in a specific college. There are also now less caucasian ancestry and more of a mix of other ethnicities that are non-whites. This is probably true with more colleges. The American dream is fading, and we are getting more people that don't care about college and are focused more on becoming social media influencers, tiktok, meta fb/IG, youtube, twitch, and Kick. They have other interests other than finishing college, and with a degree in something useless they won't ever really use in their job field and decide to take another degree becauae it's taking a while to finish due to dropping, and other reasons and put college on hold. Anyway, I also do wish I could go back in time to fix some things in the past to make people better and not be around with newer annoying zoomers who vibe differently and put us millenials and older gens look bad by canceling us and being toxic overall.

The college is ok.

The employees are unfocused and unhelpful.

(I attended this college in 2011. Hopefully things are better.)

Many students were only enrolled because they needed government assistance. They were the older students who sat in the back of the class. It's sad to know seats and government funds are wasted on them.

The favoritism was extremely obvious. The counselors were always "busy," talking and joking with students. They always knew when to get silent and tight-lipped when an actual, serious student had questions. It's up to YOU to figure things out. Counselors are just there to answer easy, general questions. They are not needed, really.

I received my very first F. Chicano History. The teacher had a questionable grading system. I did ALL the homework and daily journal whatevers. I did NOT complete the project where we had to ask an old Hispanic person WHY they were in the United States. I refused. I mean... Who would I ask? I did not want to offend anyone. And I got my very first F. ?

There was also a teacher who literally spent sixteen minutes, complaining about his divorce and his kidney stones.

This college is ok if you KNOW what you want to do. You will need to know what classes to take.

Good luck.

Most of the students are old weirdos who don't even want to be there, teacher's pets, awkward people who have zero sense of volume, loners who make every group assignment unpleasant, and girls who insult everyone and everything because it's FUNNY LOLOLOLOLOL

The employees don't really know how to answer questions, but they love to talk about their lives.

They are not there to help you. You are on your own.

I do not recommend this college.

The professors are great! In all the classes I have taken here, I have only had one bad experience with a professor. The others have been approachable and really try and help you succeed. The main girl (Alana?) at the math hub is extremely great at math and never makes me feel dumb for asking a certain question. However the school itself needs to fix numerous issues. The parking is horrible, the school itself is overpopulated and it does not make sense since considering they have limited classes for most of the classes that are needed for you to transfer. The internet is slow, and they never have enough cashiers to ring you up at the student store(I have waited an hour and forty-five minutes to buy a lab manual). The counselors are the worst aspect about this school. They continuously advise students to take classes they do not need for their major. I last saw the counselor Pearl and she was so rude and seemed she hated being a counselor. Please do all students a favor and hire counselors that care about a students academic goal.

I recently took a high school group from Tehachapi to tour BC. It was a wonderful experience for my students. They have an open perspective about community college. Thanks to the BC staff who gave presentations, Ms. Marquez from the DSPS program and Ms. Castro from the nursing program.

Great educators! Wonderful environment I never had an issue everyone was always helpful. BPD even go around and leave you notes on your vehicle if you left your car unlocked or if you left valuables visible they work great with the public safety department and make the entire campus welcoming.

I went here for semester. Not coming back. Because they overbooked people and we have to be sitting on each other laps. Also the classes I need would get full quickly and that was the point for me to go somewhere else. Which I got my education faster. Compared to my friend who's waiting to this day to get his 6th class.
