Long wait times due to just 1 person working at the counter. The teller counted the cash wrong (forgot to check the tray) and ended up giving the person after me the extra cash from my deposit prior.

When I asked about it, the response was not friendly, and rather unyielding.

I visited the Pleasant Hill Bank of America branch to request a basic account verification required by CalPERS to process a retirement deposit via ACH. Since I no longer use paper checks—a common shift for many modern checking accounts—I was advised to have my bank complete and sign Section 2 of the CalPERS Direct Deposit form instead. I brought all necessary identification, including my passport, driver’s license, birth certificate, and marriage certificate, to make the process as smooth as possible.

Despite this, staff at the branch declined to sign or stamp the form, stating that Bank of America does not provide wet signature for external documents. I was surprised by this, especially given the bank’s involvement in other verified transactions like mortgage processing; as my family has held three mortgages with Bank of America. As a result, I’ve experienced delays in receiving my funds and have had to request a physical check from the State Controller’s Office instead.

For those planning to retire using CalPERS or a 457(b), I recommend confirming your bank’s willingness to support your financial transition—or consider a financial institution that can partner with you on long-term goals.

I had a check on Bank of America, went to this location to cash my check. It was $6k a rude Asian lady told me this check is over our limit I cannot cash it, you have two option open an account with us or deposit it through your own bank. I went to the other branch on N Main Street finally they cashed my check. My question is that if you are incompetent and don’t know how to do your job, the person who hired you to work as banker is same to you. If you have cash out limit it should be applied to all your branches, why a branch one mile way is different from yours.

Had an appointment at 2:30 still waiting … it’s been an hour! Horrific Customer Service. Someone else could have helped me as the person I had an appointment with was staled for some reason but instead they did not accommodate. I took the day off so I could get this handled … too busy to try and reschedule. Kept being informed just 10 min more. I am fuming … go ANYWHERE else for service. Avoid this place like a plague.
