My step-daughter transferred in the middle of the school year from another state. She made a few friends. The teachers basicly ignored her. They informed me that all the teachers will send an email to me to inform me of homework every day. I *never* received any emails. When open house came up I went to see how my daughter was doing. I had asked my daughter every day if she had homework. Of course my daughter said she didn't because she either finished it in school or they didn't get homework. When I asked why the students did not receive homework I had some teachers spoke right up and said they didn't bother giving them homework. Others said they did. When I questioned them why they did not send me the required email to inform me of the assignments they where at a loss. Some tried the "I must not have it" answer. I kindly mentioned that it was given both to the school and themselves when we first enrolled and when we met each teacher.
I am extremely disappointed with Beebe High. They also have a problem with students using and selling drugs. I spoke with the local officer that is assigned to the campus about the issue. He said that BPD has difficulty in finding out who the students pushing/selling the drugs due to fear from the other students. Of course the staff have no idea of the problem because they turn a blind eye to "those" students. If you have a son or daughter who may be "different, have learning disabilities or social issues". This isn't the school for you. You child will be ignored. I now homestudy my daughter. She lost her father at a young age and developed PTSD due to abuse after he passed away from other family members. She has been out of Beebe High for a year now and steadily improves.
No. I will never send my daughter to that school. I feel bad for the other outsiders there who have no one to turn to in that school.
