We started working with Jessie and Boost Tutors early in the pandemic. Our son was starting high school online and it was challenging -- Jessie immediately jumped in, connected us with an amazing tutor (Jake) who remained with us through high-school, including a school shift from Brooklyn Friends to LREI in 10th grade. Jake was a steady, positive presence who also helped our son with ACT prep (he immediately boosted his scores in English and Math) and college essays and applications.

Throughout, Jessie was a thoughtful, responsive, and collaborative partner. He understands the NYC independent school landscape and has a great corral of talented tutors and specialists (ie writing and executive function). I can whole heartedly recommend Boost Tutors.

I don't generally write reviews, but my family's experience with Boost was so exceptional that I want to make it public. BOOST has been a wonderful support in many ways, the owner, Jesse, is extremely knowledgeable about all the private schools in NYC, and he was able to meet all of our needs, whether for Latin, Writing, test prep, advanced Math and Science, or college essay support. He is extraordinarily bright and kind and funny and our kids adored him. Jesse has put together an incredible team, and I'm certain that -- like us -- you will get excellent results from the tutors at Boost! They are in high demand but if they can fit you in, you will be very lucky indeed.

Spoiler alert: Jesse and Boost Tutors are amazing!

When our seventh-grader needed help with math, we didn't have much time to lose. Given the cumulative nature of math, each week would push her further behind. We reached out to Jesse, and he responded with similar urgency. After a conversation to better understand our daughter's needs, he immediately matched her up with Nia, who is smart, encouraging and overall tremendous. She helped our daughter get up to speed and also diagnosed other gaps in her learning. Over the course of 6-9 months, our daughter caught up in her class, and now math is one of her top subjects — scoring in the mid-90s. Most of all, we appreciate how much confidence she has gained.

Throughout the process, Nia provided progress reports after each session and even communicated between sessions on what she recommended we cover. We could not recommend Jesse, Nia and Boost highly enough.
