Mestre Mariano really cares about his student's and creates a platform for individuals to thrive and SHINE! This community is so welcoming, inclusive, and hardworking. I highly recommend taking Capoeira, Afro-Brazilian dance, Samba with Annalisa, Yoga with Elizabeth, and Brazilian drumming classes. They are super fun and the energy everyone brings is powerful! Thank you BCACSB!

I am so glad the BCACSB is here in our community! The classes are diverse, and interesting. So far, I have only done the stretching class, but I followed it up with a private stretching session with Elizabeth, and that was some of the best money I have ever spent because, afterward, I felt like a million bucks. I was sore and tight before, and she took me through some great poses and stretches while I was lying down on a massage table, and she helped me to relax and increase the effects of the stretch by incorporating strengthening movements first, to awaken the muscles before lengthening them.

I highly recommend the BCACSB stretching classes, and the private sessions especially, for anyone in pain or who wants to get in better shape. The method that Elizabeth uses is like a fountain of youth!

Maestro Mariano Silva is hand down the best, most experienced and patient teacher in the Santa Barbara/Goleta area, if not Southern California. He expertly and creatively teaches all levels and ages from the fundamentals to the most advanced levels. For those who dont know, the amount of work both in personal skill and creating community required to become a fully recognized Maestro of Capoeira is quite vast and takes decades of dedication. Mariano even has instructed physical education for local elementary schools. He also teaches drumming and dance in many styles and forms. I wouldn't personally imagine going anywhere else, we are so lucky to have such an authority in our town.

"Of all the works of man, the most important work is the man himself."

My experience as a Capoeira student here... Mariano is one of the most well-rounded individuals I've met. The man has a rare balance of curiosity, talent, compassion and courage to achieve the best possible outcome of any situation - your training, resultant fitness and personal growth included.

Don't waste your precious time with converted shared studios behind main street restaurants or self-proclaimed "masters." Go to the person who's been a staple and representative of Baiano culture, a harbinger of good vibes and warm-hearted, fun-loving students - Mestre Mariano Silva.
