A great bookstore with a lot of character and special touches everywhere. The cute kids’ section in the back has a ton of children’s books, I found very reasonably priced editions of classics, and cozy spots for kids to read.

This is a really great independent bookstore! Venture inside this cozy little store and your will find it's shelves stocked with plenty of great reads. There are reviews and recommendations of many, many books on the shelves. The staff is friendly, helpful and ready to offer suggestions. It's right on the green in downtown Guilford. Support your local bookstore, get to Breakwater Books!

Great little book shop and one of the few independent places left. It has a collection of great books but is a modestly sized shop and therefore does not have the selection of some other local places that others have mentioned. However I don’t think that overshadows the value of this quaint shop with its tags that explain books and the cute kids section. It’s worth the stop.

Tiny little treasure. Smaller shoppe but has a little bit of everything from your standard reading sections (newly released/fiction/nonfiction/etc) to puzzles, stickers, and more. Love this location and everyone I have encountered working here has been knowledgeable and kind.
