Cadence Academy in Canton has been like a second home to me and my son for the last 5 years. I have loved being an employee and working in such a supportive environment. My son attended from 8 months old until he went off to kindergarten this year. He always felt safe and happy at daycare. I can confidently say that he was well prepared to enter elementary school. The director Jen is so passionate about what she does. She only hires the best of the best to work at Cadence. She ensures that staff always have what they need to help the children learn and thrive everyday. I highly recommend Cadence Academy Canton to anyone looking for childcare for their child!

My time in Canton was most definitely a memorable one. I was there for a couple years and it has gotten a lot better since it’s switched management. The director truly helped the center and helped to create a stronger bond between not only the teachers, but the families as well.

I will say though, at times, the work environment became a very toxic place. Other employees would lie or spread rumors that made the environment hostile at times. There were many “cliques” within the facility and there most definitely was favoritism among them as well. It almost seemed like they lost sight of what the job was really about at times. The turnover rate there is absolutely insane and because of it, a lot of the workers were left to pick up the slack. Teachers who were told they’d receive extra help never received it. Management themselves had a habit of being not only rude, but condescending on some occasions. I understand that everyone can get stressed out, but it shouldn’t be taken out on each other. You’re supposed to be a team and that’s what daycare really is. A team.

It’s important to mention again, while the center has gotten a lot better since its previous director, there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done. I believe if there was more of a focus on the work environment for the employees, things could potentially change. It’s very easy to forget that people have feelings and things that are said negatively in a workplace spread like wildfire.

When we started looking into daycares 3.5 years ago, I dragged my husband to nearly a half dozen facilities in the area and did so much research. We finally decided on Joni’s and we are so glad we did.

My oldest son has been attending Joni’s in Canton since he was 10 weeks old and now he’s 3 years old. Our 6 month old is also attending Joni’s now and we are having the same great experience.

Our sons have loved all of their teachers and classrooms and we have too! The curriculum is what I love most about Joni’s- I am always in awe of what my 3 year old has learned. The other night he started counting in Spanish! The infant room is also so special and filled with such caring and loving teachers!

Communication during this pandemic (and always) has been very important to our family and the interim director, Tracy has been very transparent and open with parents. She is professional and kind, someone I truly trust. She has made so many great improvements in the short time since she started and has been a great addition to their team.

After visiting many other childcare/ preschool facilities in the Farmington Valley, we can say that Joni’s in Canton was one of the friendliest, brightest and cleanest of them all.
The director, Miss Danielle, has made us feel like family. She always wants to make things the best for you and your family. The teachers are wonderful as well. I highly recommend them! 🙂

My daughter attends cadence in Canton on no school days. The teachers there are great, but she has formed a special relationship with Miss Michaela and Miss Misty. I appreciate everything they do to make her happy when she's there

My daughter has grown up with the Joni’s family. My daughters pre-K teachers always have fun activities and will often bring treats from home for the kids which they don’t have to do but they do it anyway. I would highly recommend this childcare center to anyone who is looking for one. Your child isn’t just a number at this center.
