Read a lot of bad reviews and I want to make clarifications on that part. Beside, I attended this school from 2007 to 2017. So, this school is K-12 grade levels. Again, this school is for all hard-of-hearing and deaf students only. This school have their own rules based on how much dB hearing level that can attend this school. The curriculum, sports, dorm life, social life, teachers, staffs, and etc are all there for the resources. If you dislike something, you always can file the compliant then they adjust. Not just that, whoever attend this school, this will be full access to communication in ASL, develop social skills, develop their future by providing the guidance to everything with the resources. They do provide the education on both ASL and English - written and signs. This school is 100% diversity. On my experience, I am grateful that my (hearing) mother pulled me into this school when I was 7 years old. My written English improved. I used to sign with my home language and basic sign languages then I learnt ASL more included social skills with other students. I grew up in this school to learn and being able to be the fullest person as I am right now. I do not regret this school. They are one of the homes that I always look back and being grateful.

Great school and we moved across the country from the east coast to Riverside to send our children here due to it's national reputation as one of the best schools for the Deaf nationwide. It is in the top 3 for many folks and has come a long way since Nancy Amann Hlibok took the reins. Highly recommend sending Deaf children to this great program.

CSDR is an amazing place where Deaf and Hard of Hearing children will grow up to be successful adults because they will have full access to communication, develop social skills and be the whole person. Teachers and staff participates in ongoing training- currently focusing on social justice and bilingual education of ASL and English. They invested their time to make sure the students grow up to be an independent and healthy adults by preparing them for the real world out there- There are actually some PhD alumnus that graduated from CSDR. The students have plenty opportunities at that school- that includes playing sports, organizations and clubs- often would not have the same opportunity if they are the only one at mainstreamed programs.

I give them one star because I give the rest to myself!!! I will never NEVER put a child of mine in that school if my kid becomes deaf. Id rather home school my child. I'm not sure about discrimination I cant speak on that. Teachers are to lenient and they seem not to care much about their education, they wanted my child to obtain a " Certificate Of Completion" Well I DO NOT think so, I kept her in high school for another year and had her obtain her HIGH SCHOOL diploma. The dorms FORGET IT, UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO KNOW ALL ABOUT "LIFE" I figured I was doing a good thing for my child but ended up with ASL grammar.. VERY WRONG, PLEASE TEACH THESE KIDS ENGLISH!!!!! SINCERELY A MOTHER OF A DEAF CHILD WHO ATTENDED CSDR!!!! I mean it......0.

Currently dealing with discrimination and and negligence from this school. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL especially if you are a minority. They do not properly educate deaf children and discriminate against minorities. They go for the bare minimum when it comes to educating your deaf child. The teachers and administration are not even aware of their own school policy and often contridict those policies.

This school is where I was attending there for 15 years ('91-'92 to '05-'06). Since I graduated from this fantastic deaf school, I rarely visited there as visitor (last time visited was 2012 Open House). I would loved to visit there!

My children go to school here and I am very impressed by the kids' language and communication acquisition rate here after just two months of schooling in the early elementary grades. I have sampled a large variety of state deaf schools and mainstream programs and believe that CSDR is right when they say "...where language and learning thrive."

My child is learning a lot. I appreciate my daughter. For encouraging the curriculum to remain reliable and not change. And she has friends. That she talks about.in basketball. (Jacqueline ). proud Mom.
