We had a wonderful experience working with Joan Case . She is extremely approachable, easy to reach, and communicates clearly and consistently. What we appreciated most was her calm, supportive presence—she never added stress to what can be an overwhelming process. Instead, she guided our son with kindness and clarity, especially when working on his essays. Her thoughtful feedback helped him improve and express his voice authentically. Let me just say that Joan Case was a godsend! Joan was recommended to me by another parent and my daughter and I are so glad that we utilized her services. She is very seasoned, organized, kind and prepares both the student and parents for upcoming deadlines and what to expect along the way. She helped my daughter many a Saturday and Sunday with her application essays and kept us on track to meet every deadline that came our way. She was always very available to us if we had a questions or just needed to chat about the process. But what sets Joan apart from other college counselors is that she really cares about the student and really takes the time to get to know them. My daughter was uncertain as to what schools she was interested in applying to and was pretty stressed out about it. Joan reminded both my daughter and I that each student is different and that there is a right school for each student and really helped my daughter narrow down the right schools for her. My daughter is now a freshman at Cal Poly and Joan called me the other day to check in to see how my daughter was doing. I highly recommend Joan Case as a college counselor.

I highly recommend Joan Case as a college counselor! I started working with her at the beginning of my senior year and immediately felt at ease in the overwhelming college app process. I was a little late in the game but Joan quickly put me on track with a college questionnaire and helped me develop my college list. Throughout those few months, Joan provided me with great feedback for my essays, suggested colleges I may be interested in, and overall reduced the stress that surrounds the whole process. In the end, I am extremely pleased with the college I chose and could not have done it without Joan guiding me along the way!!

Joan is knowledgable, warm, and so easy to work with. She does an in-depth interview with the potential client (student) to find out more about them, and then she suggests colleges that she thinks would be a good fit. Because Joan knows so much about so many different colleges and universities, she guided my son to a college back east that I had never heard of--small, liberal arts, excellent reputation, and the perfect fit for him. My son and I visited spring of his junior year and that was it--he had found his home. He applied Early Decision, and knew in December of his senior year where he would be attending college. He will start there in Sep 2023. Because of Joan's excellent suggestion, we sidestepped much of the angst and worry that can come with college applications. Thank you, Joan!

Joan is absolutely lovely to work with! She is incredibly kind, caring, and knowledgeable, not only acting as a college consultant, but as a friend. She thoroughly familiarizes her students and their parents with the application process so that it is easily understood. Joan takes the time to understand her students well, using this knowledge to then recommend them the best colleges possible based on their personalities, and, if applicable, intended major.
Joan is also of amazing assistance when it comes to writing essays for colleges, whether it be brainstorming, editing, or encouragement. She will take great care to ensure that you submit the best possible essay to each college, though does not become overbearing in her edits; Joan makes sure that her student is the one speaking within their essay and that their voices and words are true to them and them only.
Joan has absolutely helped this incredibly stressful process become much easier to digest for me, pinpointing just how to tackle each college I wished to apply to in a focused and coherent manner. She tracks deadlines, researches what materials and number of essays each college requires, etc. and reports this to her student so that nothing shall be missed. Her service has been absolutely critical to me and I could not do without it. Even after every application has been complete, Joan has still stayed with me to coast out the rest of the time as responses roll in, helping me even now in understanding my next moves.

I started working with Joan as a student halfway through my Junior Year. I chose to work with a college counselor for support in writing my essays, and to make sure I was doing everything correctly in the whole college application process. After speaking to several different college counselors, I absolutely chose the right one; Joan! I didn't know where to start in a college application before reaching out. College applications can be extremely stressful, but it was great having Joan by my side to guide me through it all. She made the process clear and organized. She helped me select schools that fit me best, develop an incredible essay, and so much more. We had meetings in person or over Zoom to walk through everything together. My college application process would not have been the same without Joan. HIGHLY recommend!

We were a little late getting a college coach, but Joan was referred by a friend, so we contacted her right away. Joan had conversations with me as the parent initially to get our input and understanding on colleges and then spent countless hours and calls with our daughter to get to know her, understand where she is coming from, her goals, dreams, and college concerns. Joan immediately developed a plan, gave deadlines and had set meetings with our daughter. She opened her eyes to colleges we never heard of or thought of applying to. Her assistance with the Essays were very helpful. Giving insights to what colleges may be looking for and helping to shape the essay correctly. The only problem we did have, is that we applied to 12 colleges (2 were really reach schools) and she was accepted to 10. A good problem. It was hard to hard to narrow down. But happily, chose a school we would never have thought to visit or go to.....and now happily starting college at the University of Denver---It is the perfect fit!! The guidance we received was worth it!!!

Hiring Joan was the best thing I’ve ever invested in! She started with questionnaires to find out about what my daughter was looking for in a college, her major, etc. Once that was done, Joan assisted in everything until my daughter decided where she was going to attend. I can’t say enough about how valuable Joan was in guiding my daughter from beginning to end of college applications. Joan is up to date on everything and recommended schools she knew would match perfectly.I would recommend starting junior year.
