ZERO stars. I first reached out to Center for Hope - Darien in 2021 after my brother died. I was told at that time that there were no grief counselors in Darien that accept Medicare. Fast forward to 2023, and the death of another family member. I received monthly update calls from Cheryl, who repeated time and again, that there are no counselors in Darien that accept Medicare. Fast forward again to the present day, 11/13/24, when, yet again, I reached out to Center for Hope after another loss. I had to leave a message and finally received a return call from Laine Blumenkopf. I told her I had been reaching out for 18 months+ for grief counseling and asked, why is no one available in Darien? Again, the same response was that there are no counselors available in Darien that accept my insurance. I had to explain my preference to meeting with a counselor in person, and that I am still willing to travel from Wilton to Darien for in person. The only option given from Laine Blumenkopf was that their counselors are located in Greenwich and Stamford. So now it becomes my fault and my burden because I can't get to Greenwich or Stamford?...or is it because Center for Hope doesn't have any licensed counselors that accept Medicare in Darien, even though their office is located at 590 Post Road in Darien?!
Laine Blumenkopf abruptly ended the call, and I was left with, "Cheryl, or someone, will call you." Gee, thanks. I can't wait for more monthly calls of nothingness and Hopelessness. Word to Center for Hope - DO BETTER and actually provide some much needed grief counseling and HOPE!

After contacting the organization A MONTH AGO, after the death of my mother, calling to check up, not being called back, finally getting medical records for them which weren't even suggested for two weeks, and TWO WEEKS after the medical records were input and reviewed (really?) got a call that they really couldn't help me. How very Darien of them. Their intake person is incompetent at best and put my health at risk by not responding to my pleas. Horrible, just horrible experience.
