So far so good. I have enrolled in the Associates HIM program and am enjoying it. I am only in the first semester but have had no real issues. The outgoing HIM program director was retiring and did seem to not really care too much, but the new one is great. I enjoyed my meeting with her. My one real issue, I am doing this totally online. No classes at the school. For an online degree, I sure have to go to the school a lot. In the first half of this semester alone I have had to go up there at least 5 times. To get books and I was required to make another meeting with my academic advisor for an intro to college class on top of the meeting I had when I first applied. This is online school, I should not be going onto the actual campus but maybe once just to check it out and meet with my advisor.

Other than that, nothing but good stuff. My professors are professional and competent, even if they are online. So far the work is challenging and they have made it pretty easy to use their online services. Registering for classes, checking on financial aid stuff, school tools like email are all easy to access. If you are looking for a 2 year program, this might be the place for you. Just make sure you do your research first, and do not just go off of Google Reviews. I see a lot of negative reviews on here that seem like its a personal problem, not a school problem. One review talked about "ghetto acting students" which alone is a racist comment. Ghetto? What do you mean by that? Just because someone is immature does not mean the campus is bad. A lot of people going here are fresh out of high school. College shapes you, college helps bring you into adult hood. Give people a chance. Don't go off Google Reviews alone. Go in and speak to the program director, to financial aid, to admissions and gage it for yourself.

Best landscaping education you can get. I started an associates of applied business in Landscape Horticulture in autumn 2024 and have learned more than I could imagine about landscaping. Mark and Heather are the best instructors anyone could ask for, and are very supportive and encouraging. If you work hard in the Landscape Horticulture program, then the landscaping world is your oyster, which you with shovel will open.

I wanted a no nonsense school where I could focus and get a fat free education. Cincinnati State said "you're our boy."

10/10 would go here again. Got myself a welding certificate and OSHA certification.

I attended 2 semesters here which went well and allowed me to complete half of my credit hours. When I first applied to the school my first advisor assured me I could complete my program completely online, as I don’t live closer enough to commute daily. When I went to register for my third semester I was informed one of my classes would have to be taken in person which I was annoyed at since I was assured I would be fully online. I did find a way to make the commute for that class once a week, and was told the rest of the classes I would definitely be able to do fully online. The day before one of my classes was about to start, I noticed it was changed from online to in person. Then I noticed 2 of the classes had changed like that. I contacted my instructor but didn’t hear anything back so had to miss the first class. I knew I wouldn’t be able to complete my degree without these 2 courses but I wasn’t able to commute, so I looked into transferring and ended up having to transfer because I never heard back from the instructor. The day after I completed my transfer the instructor emailed back and said I might be able to take the classes online, which isn’t even a full answer and was too late at this point. I was also told I would receive CState Accelerate which would cover whatever balance is left after my financial aid. I kept waiting for my balance to be covered by them and contacted them multiple times asking when the remaining balance would be taken care of and they would never give me a date and it ended up showing I owed 1000 dollars which I couldn’t afford as I was told it would be covered. Also was a nightmare when trying to transfer as the school was withholding my transcripts so I couldn’t send them to the new school. After I dropped all my courses the school also told me I would owe a fee for dropping them which is ridiculous because it’s not my fault that the instructor made the courses impossible for me to take last minute. Overall horrible experience, the staff who answers the phone are some of the rudest and least helpful people I’ve ever met and the faculty likes to deceive students and potential students. They will tell you whatever you want to hear so you will go there and change it last minute with no remorse. Would never recommend for anyone.

Edit: They are also charging me money to drop my courses now even though the website says 100% refund the first week.

Ghetto acting students speeding through parking lots well over 2x the speed limit and yelling loudly. Highly doubt many students graduating from here can be professional in their careers. Schools need to start teaching proper behavior not just curriculum. It is sad this will be the future of most workers in our world someday. Enjoy the professionalism of older generations while it’s still around!

You better off looking into online universities, where there is an actual curriculum that won’t change next week….Cincinnati State is a whole scam… they will have you taking courses you don’t need for years all the while passing people along who can’t read full sentences….This place is a trap, then they try hire you to push the same agenda off on the next generation that didn’t work for you!!!! Don’t waste your money! Imagine doing 2+ years and it means nothing….And yes there is a racist that is over the work study program that seems to be known as a racist not just by me according to multiple reviews… and they do nothing…I thought I was tripping….. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY…. I’ve wasted too much time at that place don’t make the same mistake as me! Worst decision in life I ever made was selecting Cincinnati State as a school. FYI they make up random certifications programs to charge u for that means absolutely nothing because it won’t exist next year so what u paying for?

Whenever I have an issue, when I contact the school I am literally sent in circles trying to reach someone to fix the problem. People don’t answer emails, and I’ve come in contact with quite a few unprofessional, passive aggressive teachers. CECILA FELIX was one of THE most PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE teachers I have ever had in my entire life. Like I felt like she was actively trying to insult me honestly. I just stopped showing up at all for the rest of the semester. Guess what? Still passed. She has to be the worst one yet.

Good luck contacting anyone. None of their offices answer their phones and they don't respond to email within a reasonable time. They also place an unusual number of registration holds on your account so good luck trying to register.

A non-degree seeking student will repeatedly have holds placed on their account and then you'll need to jump through hoops trying to contact someone to remove the holds.
