DISAPPOINTED! I was so excited to take this class and gain a little knowledge regarding guns considering my hubby wants one. I wasn't interested in pursuing my permit. The class setting provided lots of great info however the range was a disappointment. Brian was my range instructor and it was my 1st time holding let alone shooting a gun. I was excited and ready. While shooting Brian did not take into consideration that I was a novice and rushed me through it instead of being patient and providing good communication. He was obviously annoyed and was rude to other students in the class setting when questions were asked. I wish I had the other gentleman for my range instructor because he was excellent with communication and he made me feel comfortable while shooting in the classroom simulation.

Unfortunately, I would NOT recommend this class to anyone! Don't waste your money or time!

The class was well organized and proceeded at a good pace. There was plenty of opportunities to ask questions as well and Brian explained everything very thoroughly. Firing on the virtual shooting range gave me confidence for when the class got to the actual shooting range to fire live rounds. As a woman, I did not feel out of place; it was a good learning experience.

You will not be disappointed, seriously, choose these guys!! This class was an amazing experience start to finish! Brian is a fast paced, very experienced teacher, encouraging you to take notes and emphasizes on key points that helped me do great on the written test and that I can now refer back to. Not that I need to look at my notes though, his slides cover every single thing you can think of, so if you have a question..seriously, wait to ask, I guarantee it will be covered! He kept us more than on time, but it didn’t feel rushed. It was interactive, informative and fun! I’ve been wanting my concealed carry permit for a very long time and am so happy that I went with this course. Brian seriously goes out of his way to make sure you know everything you need to know from the mechanics of different firearms inside and out to the CT laws on how to use them/where you can use them etc.. and the real reason on why you should own one.. including a follow up email in case you need a recap. (Super generous- can tell a lot of time was put into the whole class)

I went into this course feeling like I knew I wanted to carry a firearm for my own protection and because I like shooting them, it was very basic… I came out of this course with an appreciation for owning a firearm, a respect for the responsibility of owning a firearm and an understanding of the mindset that you need to have, that will only grow with more training, in order to safely be using a firearm- that’s a huge difference. So big thank you so much to CT Firearms Training Academy and to Brian and the other instructor at the range.

The class is long, but the Brian (the instructor) makes the class feel shorter with stories and jokes. I enjoyed the class, and got to fire a gun for the first time. Brian makes all material easy to understand, and answers all your questions.

Brian is a nice guy. He has a lot of information he is willing to share with you beyond the required scope of the class. After the class I emailed Brian a question he didn't need to answer, I just asked his opinion about a related topic, and he responded right away. Good teacher and goes out of his way to help.
