My husband and I adopted two kittens Oreo and Milano aka Fall. They are adorable. The process was easy. All involved were helpful and professional. The kittens were chipped, vaccinated, dewormed and spayed . The foster cat mom was great. The kittens are very social and affectionate. We can’t be happier. I believe the kittens are also very happy!!! Thank you so much to all for care for our kittens until we could find them.

I recently adopted a sweet pup from this shelter, and I am beyond impressed with the level of care they provided. The staff took time to understand my needs, helped me find the perfect match, and ensured the adoption process was smooth. The shelter is clean, welcoming, and full of loving volunteers. It’s clear that the animals’ well-being is a top priority, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. Great value, considering the thorough health checks and adoption packages included. Highly recommend!

I recently adopted a dog from this animal shelter, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, guiding me through the adoption process with care and patience. The quality of care the animals receive is evident in my new furry family member's great health and temperament. The value I received is unmatched, as the adoption fee included spaying, vaccinations, and a microchip. This shelter is doing a fantastic job in connecting pets with loving homes.

I adopted an exotic pet from this rescue, and the experience was outstanding. The staff's expertise in caring for exotic animals was evident throughout the process. They went above and beyond to ensure my new pet's well-being. The quality of care and facilities for exotic pets is unmatched. Considering the specialized care and attention these unique animals require, the adoption fee was an incredible value. I'm delighted with my exotic companion and grateful for the exceptional service.

One staff member wanted to let us in, the other said they didn’t have enough staff to let us look at the cats. So we were sent away and told we could look online and submit an application…. The other staff member tried to ask her coworker to allow us in but was rejected so we just had to look from the window outside. Very strange experience.

Cats are very cute and the place looked clean! Wished we could have gone inside.

It's been over a week since we adopted our new family member into our life. We couldn't be happier! The kitten (previously known as Katie Sowers in the Kitty Corner) was such an energy ball when we first encountered her.

When we first arrived, I brought a friend along to the sight and we were greeted by the workers and immediately let in and informed about all the cats in the shelter. The employees took their time to explain each cat and helped interact with each cat to show their own personality and true colors. All the cats seemed vey wonderful and well taken care of. They asked an array of questions to help find a perfect companion for my adopted 3 year old cat. They led me to the Kitty corner where I fell in love with our new kitten. They answered all the questions I had and let me and my friend play with every cat until we were finally ready to adopt (which took about 3 hours to decide.) We were not rushed to leave and the workers seemed to enjoy the company/play that we provided for the cats.

I've been to many shelters in the past few months to find the perfect companion and the Contra Costa Humane Society provided the best friendly and kind-hearted atmosphere that I've had so far. All the employees treated us so well, as well as taking care of the cats. The employees even provided photos and videos to present us to show every quirk and playfulness of each cat that we could not witness at the small time we had.

My friend and I had the best experience here and would definitely recommend others to come here as well if they are looking for a new life companion to have! We loved how the cats had free range of the rooms and we were able to see how they could adapt in environments and people.

We wanted to say thank you so much to everyone working there and for helping us find our new family member!

This place is terrible. If i could give 0 I would. Not only do they take their time. They dont care. I had applied for adoption over a week ago. I called multiple times and they dont answer. They had accepted my application but gave the adoption to someone else. They didnt even give me a chance and now Im left heartbroken cause my little girl has been adopted by someone else. I just hope they treat her well.
-Reply to theirs. I had called asking information as to why I had my application accepted but didnt receive the adoptiotn and through the response it thats on here an not through the phone seems its because she was as bonded pair...She was not listed as a bonded pair, had I seen and known I wouldve asked my roomate to apply for Coles adoption since he was looking another cat and an all black one. As you can see bellow luckily I had screenshotted the cats at the time theyre was NOTHING indicating she was a bonded pair. They have the time to come on here and reply to my review but not have the courtesy to give me a call back and explain that to me. I was already upset about losing the only cat ive felt drawn to adopt in a long time but this just made it worse. Lil bonbon I hope you and Cole are safe, beyond well loved, are being fed the best freshest nutrient dense home cooked meals and treats, and are oh so happy. Even though you aren’t mine you’ll always be considered one of my babies and will have a place in my heart and home. Hope we can meet one day.
