CSB has changed my life in the utter most positive ways. My whole life I've loved film, but I never had the tools or resources to engage in the topic. Then I stumbled across Connecticut School of Broadcast. This program not only gave me rigorous training in every category of directing and making a movie, but I was able to make lifelong friends and connections in the industry. Don't let yourself think making movies is just a dream, CSB is the first step to a amazing path.

Through CSB I've entered the film industry, directed/shot multiple short films and made lifelong friends. As a school and a community CSB is peerless. They truly go above and beyond for every student that walks through their doors with a passion for film or broadcast.

I graduated CSB in 2019. The school gave me the opportunity to grow and learn, editing skills and video creation along with making friendships for life with a very supportive and knowledgeable staff. I would highly recommend it if you’re interested in learning about video creation, and editing.

I recently graduated from the social media program through the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and Palm Beach Code School and I could not recommend this program enough! The support of the school and the teaching style of our teacher and T.A Alexis were like working in the real world marketing world! Chris was one of the best teachers I have ever had! It was flexible in scheduling and worked perfectly for me as a virtual course. I was very happy with it and look forward to other programs that both schools will offer in the future! If you’re looking to get into a new ever growing industry or just to learn more for your own entrepreneurial pursuits I highly recommend this program! You will not regret it especially with the cost effective program. 10/10

Whether you're new to the industry, or wish to sharpen your skills in the world of broadcasting, the CSB Media Arts Center is a great place to become oriented in the fast-paced industry of broadcast media. We were able to work with local news, radio, and television professionals to learn how to operate in different roles within a live studio setting, as well as learn how to write, shoot, record, and edit our own productions, allowing us to express our creativity while maintaining industry standards.

CSB provides more than what any college/university does in just weeks compared to years. I am a 2019 graduate and and all I can say is the experience was like no other. The Broadcast Media program they offer provided skills that I needed to get into the business. All of the instructors either work, or have worked in the field and have an incredible amount of knowledge. They want you to succeed! CSB is a very hands on
school which is exactly what I needed. Not only did I meet my best friend there, but made connections for life. I highly recommend CSB.

I am writing this for potential future students.

Hello there! My name is Nathan, I attended the Connecticut Filmmaking program in 2021-ish. To cut to the chase, I kinda recommend CSB.

It's tricky to write a review, as I genuinely am glad I went, and I don't want to say anything damaging as I believe most teachers to have genuinely good intentions. However, I do want to be honest: There is not enough effort put into the program at this point.

PROS:
- I had NO IDEA where to start in the world of media. Because of this program I got a taste of what I did and didn't like, and in that way it was very successful and as advertised.
- Friendship! I was in "group 1", and I became friends with people from groups 2, 3, & 4. I am still in contact with these people today, and I often call on them to do projects together.

CONS:
- The gear is outdated. It would take roughly 8k to update to a really fantastic setup with plenty of gear for the class, but instead we're working with a cheap camera body, boom mic, and outdated recorder. This is an EASY fix, and would vastly improve the experience. I was blown-away when I got my Canon EOS R6, because the user experience was exceedingly better than what I had at the school.
- A nitpick, but their website is misleading. It has stats saying what fields their students went into, where's the backup for that? Most of the students I know felt frustrated by this program, and currently only exercise film as a hobby- if at all.
- I was not taught the classes I was told I would be taught. I never had the audio class, and despite following up multiple times never got the resume making class or the certificate of completion. No one that I have talked to that went to the school in the 2 years I was involved with it got this certificate either.

Now why do I give it 4/5 stars? Because I was internally motivated. When the gear sucked, I bought my own. When my actors got sick, I pulled an all-nighter to re-write a script, shotlist in the way they told us to, film, edit, and submitted it 3 minutes before the deadline the next morning. When I felt the program wasn't putting in the effort, I put it upon myself to watch YouTube videos on the topics I wanted to know more about.

However, I wouldn't have done any of that if I hadn't gone to CSB. I wouldn't have realized that I love photography. I never would have met the 3 people I consider good friends that I met through this program.

Many people that I know that attended this school were upset. It's unfortunately a known thing for people that have gone how bad the program is, but very few put that information online. I know the teachers know me, and I hope when they see this review it's taken as motivation to improve, for the sake of the arts and the people passionate about it.

The program itself? It needs work. But if I had to do it all over again, I would.

CSB was an amazing experience for me. I learned so much in just 2 months. From Adobe Premiere/ Audition, podcasting, TV equipment and so much more. The instructors are amazing and fun, each with there own teaching styles. Do you hate textbooks, good, CSB won’t be throwing those at you! On the first day you will be playing with all sorts of equipment and until the end of the semester you will learn so much.
