Review from 2014: This school has an awesome food court. I don't drink alcohol but I learned that this school has a liquor license. It's actually one of the few Cal State schools that have one. The bar is located right below food court.

2021 update: since this post is being viewed quite a bit I decided to provide an update. Food court changed throughout the 2yrs I was there. Many restaurants closed but the bar continued to be very popular and also served good food.
I graduated in 2018. Majored in Community Health. I don't have any complains about the faculty or department. I was a transfer student and my experience was great. Classroom size was decent (most classes <35). The school attracts a lot of working students. The school student body is also very diverse. It is a very small campus but after I graduated the school got funding and was expanding.

My first semester, I visited this school last summer, I automatically fell in love with it. Beautiful campus, new building, friendly students, and small classes. The faculty are helpful, they help you step by step till you get where you want to be. Can't complain about teaching and examination, if you work hard, you will get good grades. I'll definitely recommend this school unless you looking for something other than college experinces and degree.

Awesome campus, the Loker student union is the place to be. It is so nice in there. The library especially is super nice, so fancy. There are multiple level for your comfort, and yes, the higher you go, the quieter it gets. ( thats good though.)

Great teachers and community. However, the infrastructure still needs improving. The administration and alumni have done some minor changes but some buildings are very old. The school is definitely improving but as of yet no doctoral programs are available here. The highest level you can earn is a Masters.

The school itself is great, the Admissions and Records service, not so great. I called the office and was on hold for an hour and thirty minutes! Aside from that, the day before I had called in for my son who is a student there, regarding Early Start. She got angry when I told her that I believed that my son did not need these courses (he was an honors student!! Passed all of his mathematics courses with a B or higher/Did well on the ACT/SAT, etc). She told me that my son was privileged to have been accepted there, like...um. She grouped up my son with the rest of the students who didn't do as well and was proud about it. No wonder the graduation rate is so low, the staff doesn't believe in their students, pity. They really need to amp up their staff, they're quite ill-mannered.

I think the university's academic are descent and profesors are great! I dont like this school that much because its very small and the events are boring. People come and go. Most students are rude! if your smart and dont want try hard then come to this school, the classes are easy.

My Track & Field team and scholarship was dissolved in 1984 because CSUDH stopped paying the coaches. I could not afford the tuition and was forced to drop out in my junior year! Other than that, I had a wonderful experience at CSUDH. It is a very beautiful campus. I was able to help raise money for the Velodrome prior to the Olympic Bicycle races.

If you are looking for nothing but book work and professors that don't remember your name then this school is not for you. I honestly think CSUDH has received so much, unnecessary, criticism. The campus is great, faculty/staff are helpful, and most professors are great. When you are a part of the campus you "bleed toros." This is to all the negative ratings on here...come on people, college is not all about learning in classes, its networking and being involved on campus. This school teaches you how to be a well rounded student.

Go Toros! Awesome School.
