Over a year ago, I was feeling lost, and my 7-year-old child was completely frustrated and lacking confidence in her reading and writing skills. At the time, she was in 1st grade and was performing well below her grade level. She even didn’t want to go to school anymore. Dyslexia was the culprit, and we started the intervention process at school, but I quickly felt that it wasn’t enough. In my search for additional help, I found Lexercise, and they immediately created an intervention plan tailored to her needs.
We were incredibly fortunate to meet Tawny! Her experience, both as a teacher and on a personal level, made all the difference. Tawny was much more than a tutor—she became a mentor and a source of encouragement. She restored my child’s confidence, helped bring her up to grade level, and most importantly, she taught me how to advocate for my child. With Tawny's guidance, I learned how to work with the school to secure accommodations and understand the importance of the right type of interventions for a child with dyslexia.
The Lexercise method truly works. While I saw no progress with the school’s approach, I realized that their methods just weren’t the right fit for a dyslexic child. I cannot recommend Lexercise enough, and especially Tawny. She’s not just an incredible tutor and therapist—she’s a caring and dedicated person who has made a lasting impact. My child now eagerly looks forward to her weekly sessions, and thanks to Tawny, she’s learned that learning can be fun when adapted for her difficulties!

This program has been a game changer for our daughter. Prior to the school shutdown for Covid, her teacher had voiced some concerns but nearly all school assessments and resources were put on hold. Having our daughter begin this program with Elena was the best decision. Elena has a perfect temperament for teaching and is so great at explaining things and offering positive encouragement along the way. Our daughter has made amazing progress so far and it was so rewarding to see that progress recognized in the school reading tests. I highly recommend Elena to anyone out there with a struggling reader.

We have worked directly with Elena for almost 1 year. Our son was diagnosed with Dyslexia and we were unable to get the support needed from our local school. Elena has been patience, kind and encouraging this whole time and our son has improved significantly in the past year. We are so grateful for everything she has done for our son, and slowly he is gaining the confidence to read and write.

My husband and I were receiving consistent feedback from teachers from kindergarten through 5th grade. Mollie was not completing her class work during allotted class time. At home, we would sit down and struggle for hours for homework completion while she saw her friends outside playing (as their work was finished). Talk about rough.

In conjunction with our daughter’s education team (at school) and Lexercise (specifically, Elena Girling), Mollie is now excelling!!! She has been getting straight As and her confidence has improved greatly. We want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU!!!! We highly recommend this program.

Elena has been such a great tutor and mentor for my 10 year old. My son absolutely loves his weekly meetings. He was at around a 2nd grade reading level when she first started working with him and now (just a year later) he is reading at his grade level. She is a great resource and sounding board regarding questions on his education and tools to provide him. !00% recommend.

Ms Elena is patient and engages the student. I am relieved at my son's progress and I believe he would be on grade level now if we had known about this program earlier. Actually, any child would learn to read more easily with this program but for a child with dyslexia it is absolutely necessary. I'm really glad we decided to use this program and I'm very happy with Ms.Elena.

If your child is struggling in reading and/or writing, I highly recommend working with Ms. Elena. She is patient, friendly, creative and extremely knowledgeable. We saw incredible improvement in our child. I was at my wits end before we started and now my child can read and write more than I ever expected in such a short time. I waited far too long believing the school telling us “he’s very bright, he’ll catch up” or “he wasn’t trying hard enough.” Don’t wait. I wish I did this years earlier. My child would tell you this too. I can only imagine how much further my child would be and how much frustration I could have saved us both.
