My son was only here a few months before he aged out but he and I both loved it. He was diagnosed with autism and although he had some challenges, he was never treated differently. They established routine which has helped life at home easier. In the beginning, I had a hard time accepting that heโ€™d be with strangers for 6 hours a day, but that changed rather quickly. Ms. Milagros, Ms. Kulwinder, and Ms. Shirley treated my son like their own. I grew comfortable with the idea that heโ€™d be taken care of by them. His last day was hard and I could tell everyone was sad to see him go. I had to hold back my tears because I was very grateful for not only the teachers, but the staff as well. Not only were the teachers loving, but the staff helped a great deal. I am a college student, donโ€™t have any help with our son and have no family, but the staff made it known that they were there for us. There was a time where I broke down during a transitional meeting because I was having a very difficult day. On top of my difficult day, my son decided to throw a huge fit while attending the meeting. They saw how overwhelmed I was and did everything in their power to help me. They took him out of the room and tried to console him so I could get through the meeting. I am super grateful that the Cooper Ave E Center treated my son with so much love and care. If youโ€™re looking for a supportive family, I recommend this location.
