Me and my husband have came to this food bank a couple of times and had good service by the people who run it...it wasn't until today that I witness this woman being discriminated against with food just because she was African American back ground.. My husband and I and another gentleman stood by and watched a worker from the food bank come out with 2 carts full of food..it was so much as how much it was the things she was loading into her car..she was parked in front of the food bank then once she unloaded she moved her car to the lot across from the food bank and went inside herself and remained...we all looked as she said she worked there .so we all was wondering if you work there how can you get everything you want filled to the max with steaks...bags of chicken etc ..so the black girl goes after a couple of others and they gave her a bag full of bread .lettuce...and 3 packs of freezer burnt ground beef and molded tomatoes...so the lady looks through her stuff and was annoyed at what she had gotten compared to the previous people that was before her..so she goes and talks to this man who works there on the side...the man was dismissive and walked away like he didn't care about what she was talking about...we stood in awe and saddened at what they had given her versus what we all seen the workers and others had taken out. They took back the lady freezer burnt beef and gave her just one bag of chicken ..in which the worker who got her car full of the best of everything then went back in the food bank told the lady if she didn't like it she can go to another food bank...this was totally distasteful and disrespectful....who can I contact about this please...Thank you

If you don't live there only give what is required by federal law. There is no heart compassion to help. I was told you won't get the food we buy for our town people and don't come back.

The Ecumenical Food Bank provides a nutritionally balanced supply of food for 3 days, 3 meals a day, for each member of the family served. Patrons from Naugatuck or Beacon Falls may visit the Food Bank up to 2 times each month. Hours are Tues 2 PM to 4 PM and Fri 10 AM to noon. Two (2) forms of ID (one must be a photo ID) and a current piece of mail must be provided to verify address. They have awesome friendly staff who can understand the situations of the patrons and serve them.

Naugatuck Scouting for food collects average of 1000 bags of food every year in November. Most churches collect food for the food bank.

They do need help year around. Consider helping them anyway you can.
