I cannot NOT recommend the EMDR Institute enough. I did a training with them virtually to learn EMDR and the facilitator of my group demanded that we share personal traumas to practice EMDR on each other. I voiced that I didn’t think this was appropriate several times. I was turned off by the first half of the training and so I took a break, only to find out a few years later when I went to sign up for the second half that I’d have to pay a “retake fee” and redo part 1, which felt like an absolute money grab. When I was open about why I had delayed, the woman made me feel like I was the problem because their consent form had said we’d practice on each other. Unbelievable. Literally do your training anywhere else.
