My son first joined EMA as a 6th grader, two weeks before the Pandemic. He was motivated but had low confidence and a lot to learn. Coach Gumbs, Coach Andrew, and Coach Matt helped him build confidence through challenging him and teaching skills. They run a tight ship with high expectations, including body language and respectful tone. My son has grown a lot, joining his high school Varsity team as a sophomore! These last two summers EMA has given him the opportunity to be a Junior Coach during camps. He is now practicing leadership with younger kids, on top of his personal basketball growth. I highly recommend EMA, for those willing to work hard and grow.

My son Julian, 1st grade, started with Empower Me Jrs clinics since the fall. We've tried other basketball clinics and I can confidently say Empower Me offers the best training for his age. It's fun, personable, and challenging. Julian started league play with his school basketball team and Empower Me has prepped him very well. He's having a blast! Big kudos to Coach Andrew who is Julian's favorite!

My son has been a part of this basketball team for several months, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Not only has it helped him significantly improve his stamina and techniques on the court, but it has also fostered his sense of teamwork and sportsmanship. The coaches are dedicated and knowledgeable, offering personalized feedback that has boosted his confidence and skill set. This team has been an incredible outlet for his energy, and he’s learning life lessons that go beyond just basketball. Highly recommend for any parent looking to help their child grow both athletically and personally!

This has been one of my favorites in terms of camps for my 8-year old daughter. The camps are physically engaging for a large part of the day. They're learning skills through game play/mini challenges throughout the day. There's also an aspect of respect, sportsmanship, mindfulness, and self care. Even when my daughter's one of the few girls (and one of the smallest for her age) in the group, she feels included and the coaches are incredibly supportive and encouraging.

What's also great is that these camps typically have flexibility to meet the needs of parents/guardians. They often can support a one-day, or multi-day drop in (with little notice), and they also run full week sessions too.

I think their website could use some assistance in terms of navigation. I can't always easily find my way to the camp sessions I'm looking for, so I'd recommend some improvement from the user perspective there - it might help with increased participation, which would be great for both the program and the kids who would benefit.

My son loves learning about the game and practicing. We first discovered Empower ME through a free session, then my son participated in their summer camp 2024 and he learned so much. Now he is enjoying Saturday basketball practice. He likes Coach Andrew because he is helpful, encouraging and reminds him how much he’s improving!!

The best place for raising kids. Place where not just sport, but friendship and supportive environment. Experienced, attentive, respectful coaches give right set up for growing boys and girls. Both of my sons (11yo and 9 yo) happy to join basketball clinics or any other activities with EMA. They are tired after that but with gratitude and wish to play and be coached again and again. Coach Gumb - true leader with big heart. Highly recommended Empower Me Academy!

My daughter is on the newer side to basketball and she did a week of summer camp full day with EMPOWER! She was challenged but in the best way possible. She came home pushed out of her comfort zone AND pumped for more! This is a fantastic program that we are also considering for our child who has much more basketball experience.

Empower Me Academy has been life changing for our son. They have built our son into a leader on and off of the court. After having bad experiences in the basketball world, they gave him back his confidence, his ability to believe in himself and knowing that they believe in him and his future. Basketball is not just a game for our son but his life goal. They have taught him great work ethics on the court and in school. Because of Empower Me Academy he has the most positive attitude towards the hardest of times and gives the same energy to others to get them thorough the same struggles. He is where he is in life because of his intense drive and Empower Me Academy supporting him and backing him on his journey.
