Leigh is a wonderful woman. I met her just before my trip to Cleveland Clinic for seizure testing. We have connected very well. My mom works in consulting and has been working side by side with Empowering Epilepsy for about a year now to support the foundation as best we can. Empowering Epilepsy is definitely an organization to support.

Empowering Epilepsy is a wonderful organization that provides many services to people with epilepsy and their families. Leigh and her staff are very warm and knowledgeable and the empowering epilepsy space is very comfortable and inviting. I have attended several events with my son and found each one to be beneficial. It is so nice to be around others that understand some of tne challenges that you face and can offer possible solutions. I strongly encourage anyone touched by epilepsy to contact Leigh/visit Empowering Epilepsy office.

Just when I thought there were no local Epilepsy support groups for parents of children with epilepsy, I found Leigh and Empowering Epilepsy! She was SO incredibly helpful and was full of enthusiasm to do whatever she could to help me. She has so many resources and I appreciated how easy she was to talk to. She gave me some names of adult Epileptologists and neurologists that would be willing to take on a complex case like my son! I can’t express enough how much it means to a mother of a special needs young man who is trying to transition to adult providers (scared to leave his pediatric providers) to have personal recommendations. I have spread the word to friends about the support groups she organizes and everyone is so thankful to find that this organization exists! I am, personally, thankful to know people like Leigh and her organization are out there to support the families dealing with epilepsy.

Navigating a new diagnosis of epilepsy for our son was a seemingly insurmountable task. I am thankful that the Cleveland Clinic put us in touch with Leigh and Empowering Epilepsy. She was my rock for the last two years, assisting us sort out medication use, doctors, what to request for a 504 plan, and the list goes on. Our son has received amazing support as well and has enjoyed meeting other teens with epilepsy through the teen support group. Thankfully, our kiddo has been seizure free for a year and we are forever thankful for Empowering Epilepsy!!!

Extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and caring.

I've found this group to be extremely helpful whenever I have questions or concern with my child's epilepsy. The group is extremely supportive and it is great to connect to others who truly understand and care.
I love the events where we can come together and spend time with others who are fighting the same fight. Together we are one big purple family! 💜

I had my first seizure in 2018 at age 22. I found out about Leigh Goldie and Empowering Epilepsy shortly afterwards. Since then, this organization has always been by my side, giving me the support and knowledge to handle the many "ups and downs" of living with this terrible and often misunderstood condition. Whether I needed advice, someone to listen, or to just talk with someone who understands what living with epilepsy is like, Empowering Epilepsy has always been there. I highly recommend this organization to those who have been newly diagnosed or have lived with epilepsy for many years. I also recommend it to family members of those with epilepsy who want a better understanding of epilepsy and how they can help their loved ones.
