Beautiful views! Very easy loop trail hike. Seemed like a couple hundred feet of elevation gain. We were able to see the spit and a bit of the glacier beyond which was nice! Flowers and vegetation were beautiful and the camp area had an informative binder on local flowers! Would recommend if you're looking for a chill way to see some scenery in the area.

On June 29th, only some parts of the trails have flowers blooming. Most are yellow daisies, red roots, and deep blue lupines. The walk itself is gentle, pathway is well constructed and even kids should be able to do the whole thing just fine. Bend down in places as there are lots of little flowers, especially Blue ones that you don't want to miss.

Do look up at the horizon and check out the mountain ranges with glaciers, absolutely stunning views.

This site is in itself a reason to go to Homer, Alaska! It has hiking trails that are well tended and that are not difficult. The real reason for going is for the views. This site has fantastic views of the Dixon and Portlock Glaciers, and of the Kachemak Bay and the spit. There is a pleasant observation area with a picnic table from which to enjoy these views. There are occasional other visitors that you will meet, but for the most part this site is very quiet and a good place to enjoy the natural surroundings. This site is located off East End Road, it is a short way down a well-maintained gravel road, it has convenient parking and is easy to access.

Short walk through meadows of high wildflowers, some areas have glacier view, but trail has views of dead trees.

Gorgeous fields of fireweed and other wildflowers. Trails are very easy and mostly level, there is a dog station with water bowl and bags for picking up after your pet.

This place is not too far from our house, but we'd never visited before. It was fun to take a walk someplace different. The trails were well maintained and the signage excellent. We were there on an overcast/drizzly day, so there are no issues with bugs. The wildflowers were beautiful and we saw one young, solitary moose. Of course, the views are beautiful out that way. We noticed just one picnic table, but might try bringing a lunch along next time.

I adore this place. Skiing and snowshoeing in winter (with established, groomed trails), short hikes in the summer. Viewing platform is well maintained, as are the trails. Perfect under the full moon! Or any time, really. Little outhouse near the parking lot, sign in board at the trailhead

Wow, super nice! Great views of the glaciers, really amazing wildflowers, lots of small bird activity.

Very easy almost flat trail with a lot of options in terms of length. I'd love to come out and see this in winter too.

Maybe the best maintained trail I've ever been to! Almost no trash, really great signage and maps at every fork in the trail. Dog waters and bowls set out at various distances, dog bags and even a scoop provided. They even have a downloadable flower ID guide at the trail head.
