My elderly mother was cared for on two separate occasions. Both times my mother was treated respectfully, professionally and given exceptional care. While her medical needs were being met, she was provided excellent meals and a variety of recreational activities which we all enjoyed very much. Family members were made to feel welcome by all the staff despite the demands of their jobs The entire staff works as a team and communicates well with each other. I highly recommend Evergreen Woods. As i’ve told the staff, if I ever need a facility for myself, I hope they’re still there.

Just got a call from Evergreen. It was very informative and answered all of our questions. Kudos to them!

We sent this note a couple of weeks ago and have heard nothing beyond the automated acknowledgment. It is pretty upsetting to be completely ignored.

We are writing to inquire as to the prognosis for issuing the refund for our mother’s apartment. H* S* passed away in August 2023 and her apartment was inspected and released to you on September 1.

In June 2011 our mother signed the agreement in which $244,465 was provided as the refundable loan for her apartment. As part of that Agreement, this was to be refunded no more than 30 days after the apartment was occupied by a new resident of Evergreen Woods.

Per the 2022 Evergreen Woods Disclosure Statement, the anticipated vacancy and resident turnover rates were to be nearly equal at around 15% in 2024, which suggests that any particular apartment would not stand vacant much more than a year. As it has now been almost 18 months since her passing, it is reasonable to presume that her apartment should be reoccupied in the near future, and the money released to her heirs.

As you may imagine, we are rather in the dark as to the progress being made to reassign her residence, and we would sincerely appreciate you to bring us up to date.

My mother recently moved into Evergreen Woods in Branford, Connecticut, and we have been absolutely blown away by the warm welcome she has received.
The community is nestled in a stunning 88-acre setting, providing a serene and picturesque backdrop for a truly luxurious senior living experience.
The staff has been incredibly helpful in making my mom feel like family. A giant shout out to to Krista for helping us choose a wonderful apartment within the community, Nancy C. (with the best can-do attitude) helped make my mom’s ‘move-in’ a seamless transition, Liz who makes every meal in the dining room special, the sweet Catherine at the bar and all of the waiters, Andrea and Mario who keep the place running so efficiently, Claudia who offers a beautiful in-house salon (as well as gorgeous hair styles) and the many others at EW who make the place so special for our loved ones.
Evergreen Woods truly embodies the best of community retirement living and a place where we believe my mom can truly thrive and enjoy life to the fullest.

I've been a resident of Evergreen Woods since mid 2021. For most of the time I have lived here i've been in good health and thoroughly enjoyed being a resident. I had an accident in the summer of 2022 while I was away at my summer place that caused me to have to spend some weeks in the Health Center. I needed after that to take advantage of the physical therapy facilities during recovery from the accident. Thus, I've experienced a range of living experiences at EGW. All of them have led me to conclude that I made a very smart decision in choosing EGW as a place to live.
From a physical perspective, EGW is fine. The natural surroundings are enjoyable, uplifting. I live in Whitfield, and my apartment is quite a distance from the community center. That provides a bit of a challenge at times, but on the other hand I see it as a way of helping me maintain a good physical condition as I grow older.
I couldn't ask for better neighbors than those that surround me here at EGW. We are quite varied in terms of backgrounds and interests. And the programs here offer opportunities for a variety of experiences in the arts and other avenues of learning and appreciating the world around us. I've given a few talks while living here. And have enjoyed the challenge of putting together talks that my neighbors might enjoy. It's up to them to say whether that's been the case, but without a doubt it's been a joy for me to work on those projects.

My Family could not be more happy with our Mothers short stay. She went for a short stay for Rehabilitation. The facility is very clean and I have to say something that stands out is there is no odor The place is clean and pleasant to visit. That being said what makes Evergreens stand out above the rest is their staff. Everyone we encountered at Evergreens was super nice and understanding they all work as a team to provide a better experience than we ever expected. Better than 5 stars

From my first day here, before I actually moved in, the staff has been more than accommodating. They are professional, extremely competent, and warmly welcoming. They go out of their way to assure your comfort and satisfaction with your move in and your adjustment to the new lifestyle that is Evergreen Woods. Since almost everything is done for you and there is so much offered for your pleasure, you can do what you want, when you want, and how you want. You and your happy fellow residents are free to enjoy whatever lifestyle that suits you.

Nancy Constantinople helped them prepare for the move and worked closely with them on renovations/repairs to their unit. She was flexible, patient, organized, and very welcoming throughout the process. The unit is lovely, and my parents have been given such a warm welcome since moving in. Thank you!

The staff at all levels is excellent and acommodating.. The facilities and grounds are in very good condition and are well maintained. The activities provided are wide-ranging in all aspects to suit a wide variety of interests and abilities. Transportation within a 25 mile radius is provided at no additional charge. On-site health care is available for a wide range of services, with local Yale Medical Center options readily available. The dining facilities offer a variety of seating options, and the weekly menu for lunch and dinner is varied, well prepared and served well. The residents typically are well-educated, skilled, talented and personable. Evergreen Woods is an excellent facility for individuals and couples seeking an independent and caring living option.
