Distance learning hasn't been for every youth, and many find themselves struggling to stay motivated. My 15-year old FTHS student stopped turning in assignments, and even though I'm working from home it's been difficult to adjust to checking in on him consistently. Hiring a tutor to check in twice a week has been the best decision ever. Paula is fantastic, gauges our needs, and works with us to create a plan that has him turning in his homework on time. She's available to help him with any subject he needs assistance with, but just having someone he answers to regularly has been a game-changer.
