The instructor was so rude!!! Bad attitude from the jump. He showed up 15 minutes late and brought his kids. He sat there loudly talking on the phone for over an hour while he had us watch videos. It was just me and one other student. When it came time to actually teach us, I skipped a step when we had to pump air into the “patient” (fake baby) and instead of helping me, he went off on me and kicked me out. He said he can reschedule me for another day. Another day? Wasted 1 hour and 30 minutes of my time on my day off of work! Waste of time and $80!

Amazing class. Small with 4 people. Any mistakes will be cleared. I feel that this class was personal enough to give me to confidence to help someone 10/10. Great teacher and makes small jokes while teaching. The teacher will point out mistakes in a kind way. No need to be embarrassed everyone is there to learn

It’s been hard to find a place that is still in business. I located “American generations CPR/first aid training.” It was through the American Heart Association. The ease of scheduling was very good. Response time was good good. Communication was good. But…!

I came just a few minutes late, and the DVR was already playing a recorded lesson. I was given a manual and two pages of printed instructions. I quietly took my seat. There was one other woman in the room. After approximately 20 minutes, I opened the instruction book, thinking that I should be following along. The man who gave me the book slid open a glass window from a partition on one side of the room and roughly and sternly told me to pay attention to the video. I asked if we were to use the manual to follow along and he started getting very angry. He came around the wall and into the room, pausing the video. The man kept shifting his shoulders to try and control himself, and remain “professional.“ But he clearly was VERY angry! I asked him over and over why was he angry, and he would deny being angry. He told me that I had to reschedule. I told him I wanted to continue, but he would not. He insisted that I leave. The other participant spoke up and said she thought I should be able to stay, and could we just continue? He said, "No! She has to leave."

I asked to speak to the manager and he said he is the manager. We went back and forth on this for awhile. I left, but went back after a moment of thinking it over. Once I came in the door, I went over to his desk to quietly address him, and he reacted by becoming really loud and backed up into the corner and told me to keep my distance. I spoke quietly to him, despite his aberrant behavior. But he couldn't hear me because he started yelling (LOUDLY), "I don’t feel safe!" and he opened the little sliding glass window into the room where this other lady participant was sitting. I told him quietly, "Listen, I don’t think this is going to work out between us and I would like a refund from my deposit." He continued with his LOUD voice. He told me that he was already planning to do that, I said calmly and without anger or malice, “Well, good, because I think that’s for the best.” And I turned and left.

I'm giving it two stars because
1). the ease of scheduling was very good. Response time was good good. Communication was good.
2). The room was well appointed with the appropriate equipment for the class.

Everything was in order--except for him.
In reading the reviews, I am not the only person he's treated rudely.

Be warned. If you choose this place, do NOT even TOUCH your book (or, apparently, your phone, according to another review). He has ZERO TOLERANCE for either. Follow all signs and orders with military precision, as there is, in my opinion and experience, not likely to be any kindness or forbearance from the man who runs the place.

I will be seeking another place for my CPR, as clearly, this place is not agreeable to me. It is my opinion that he seems to have anger management issues.

My company sent me to GLI to get my certifications in CPR, AED and First Aid. This has to be one of the best learning experiences I've ever had. Alex is an extremely professional and knowledgeable instructor. He has a natural gift for teaching and presents the material in a thorough, comprehensive and fun way. His facilty is also top notch and the classroom promotes a comfortable learning environment. I would highly recommend this business, to anyone looking to certify or recertify their CPR .

I really enjoyed attaining my BLS certificate through this instructor. He asked questions and explained everything and made it as simple as possible. I also enjoyed his interaction while performing the hands on examination. He makes the process enjoyable. Thank you!!

The class was great but the instructor was rude ,I received a text in the lesson that my child was having an asthma attack at daycare and sent a text alerting my husband to go get our child "I didn't disturb the class and my phone was on silent" the instructor singled me out telling me to get off my phone and it was disrespectful and that I would cause the class to slow down he didn't allow me to explain the situation at all and told me "next time go outside if I needed to text" again my phone was on silent no one was disturbed and he was the only one disturbed by me sending a quick message none of my classmates even knew I sent a text till he said something in the future I suggest he changes his attitude it's not good
