Was at the store 8/27. Wow the staff here are awesome! Definitely either love their jobs or they put on the “customer service” face, although if that’s the case - I could not tell. I didn’t realize they were closing when I went to the fitting room and came out 10 full minutes after they were technical closed. All I got was, “did you want to head to the register? We’re kinda closed.” In an incredibly happy and kind way. They did not rush me at the register and even signed me up for their perks program - EVEN THOUGH WE WERE A FULL 15 MINUTES AFTER CLOSE! They absolutely did not need to be so gracious. I believe it was the manager that handled most of the conversation, but everyone was beyond nice. Huge props. Store is also well-maintained with a pretty decent selection. Wish I had more time to look at books, but that is 100% on me.

I love this store, but sometimes it goes too far, there are old clothes that are already ripped and the prices are bad.

Good. Ive always found with thrifting it's always hit or miss. The staff were helpful, checkout was easy. Went for dish ware and was able to find a few things. They have carts for you to use, those were helpful (better than aldi where you need a quarter to borrow one)

This one is smaller than the others I've been to and with less selection to choose from. The place was clean and somewhat organized. The kids section was very small. I was looking for some infant clothes but couldn't find anything. They had a decent picture frames, cutlery, and miscellaneous section.

I usually can't leave a Goodwill without buying something but this time around I didn't buy anything. My husband on the other hand did find a nice pair of jeans and a picture frame with some art on it. I also found a cute JCrew vest for $15 but didn't end up buying it.

The checkout was easy and uneventful; the line was kind of scattered, people were forming a new line when there was an existing one already. Overall, this may not be my go to Goodwill but maybe on occasion I'll visit.

The selection here has been pretty sparse on the occasions that I have been here. I have had a couple good furniture finds (some chairs) but there isn't really a lot else. I would personally recommend driving to the Avon location for a much bigger variety unless you are already in the area.

Update 05/2024 - I doubt this location will still be open as of 05/30/2025. The donation bins in the back are full, but the shelves are empty. They ran the resellers off some time ago, by not selling anything they'd want to buy. The location is understaffed, and rumors hit the "no smoke without fire" point a while ago, and...yeah. Last year's $20/month is more like $10. In a good month.

2023:
I like the staff, but the rest... not so much. The shelves are always bare. The locations in my area do not carry jewelry. At all. Anything good gets sold on line and the store gets overpriced or broken merch. This has been true for over a year. If you get there when the bins roll out sometimes you get lucky, but as often as not, no joy. I used to spend $40 a week if not more. Now, maybe $20 a month .

If you want a good laugh, read the robo-response to this review. Those "generous donations" don't make it to the floor. The former jewelry case was almost empty the last time I walked in. (yesterday) I'm actually finding a few things here and there, but it's a good store to avoid resellers. None of them bother with the place any more.

Five months after initial review ... emptier shelves and mens' clothing is sparse. If you're there when the carts or racks roll out (IF they roll out) you may find something, but they've jacked up prices on anything worth buying . $20/month is a pipe dream now.

Crew not interactive at all. Mostly talk to each other, or use their cell phones. Manager usually in the back. Often wait to be cashed out. Merchandise very good. Follow up. I suggest the Mgr and crew here drop in and visit the New Britain Goodwill for tips on a very successful way to run a Goodwill store. This location opened Thurs 5/25/23. 10 out of 10 for me. The store is farther away than Bloomf store, but worth it!!
