I am extremely disappointed with Goodwin University. After investing over $40,000 in tuition and fees, I was informed upon graduation that my degree would be withheld due to a $900 balance. This news was devastating, as I had worked incredibly hard to earn my degree while also holding a full-time job. Now, facing unemployment, I am unable to pay the outstanding balance and am being denied my degree. This entire experience has left me feeling defeated and as though my efforts were in vain.

I contacted the financial aid department on January 22, 2025, and they told me that I could expect a call from the business department by the end of the week. But we are now in February, and I'm still waiting for a call back.

I spent many years at Goodwin University earning Public Health BS and MS degrees and a MS in Organizational Leadership degree. My experience was fantastic meeting many wonderful and supportive staff from the cafeteria and janitors to every Professor I had! My classes were full of students from those fresh out of high school to those over age 70. The input of this multigenerational experience was like none other. There are many ancillary programs and activities always happening on and off the Goodwin campus as well as opportunities for Alumni to continue to contribute to the Goodwin experience for others. Everyone took an interest in everyone else. The upper management was also extremely accessible and responsive to student needs and concerns. I would encourage future students to attend Goodwin University for these and so many other reasons.

*November 2024 update*
I attended this school from 2016 to 2018 in the A.S. CNC Machining program. The one star in this review reflects professors that taught well.

The lack of stars in this review reflects two major issues.
The first stems from incompetent and ineffective staff at the career resource center. One week I was provided guidance for resume writing. Then another time (in an office appointment) a woman said something quite different. This same woman also spoke down to me and did not listen to my thoughts and ideas when it was my turn to speak. She then claimed to have many years in HR. Yet considering how she communicated with me, that experience does not justify how she interacted with me.

The second issue stems from a below-average social experience. This one remains to this day hurtful as I, a Hispanic/Latino, was not included, not desired, nor sought out the same way other students were. I believe the reason(s) stem from being a new student outside pre-existing social circles, incompatible class schedules, and general personality differences. As a more mature adult now in 2024, this remains disappointing considering how open, diverse, and progressive the school was back then.

Lastly, examine the programs at G to see if they are double-credential oriented. This means degree + certification (and even require internships). I mention this because the CNC program did not mandate an internship. Consequently this lack of experience cannot be pursued anymore as well as hampered my ability to meet manufacturing job requirements.

Bottom line: If you don't mind the lengthy class times (up to 3 hours), course schedule challenges, and not having social opportunities, this is an expensive school. Otherwise go to a normal community college, earn your credits there, then transfer to a better school. Or start directly in a university rather than Goodwin.

Wasted $50,000 on a A.S. in Health Science. Was accepted into the RT program only to find out I would owe $23,000 to the University because I ran out of financial aide due to their negligence. My advisor that no longer works there assigned me several classes I did not need to take to obtain this degree as a stepping stone into my final program. Had to take the correct classes thus taking more out of my allowed financial aide. Had to withdraw from the program after digging down deep since the financial department doesn’t do anything to help you or guide you just throws their hands up. Absolutely no support in many of their departments which is sad because you pay extra for being in a private college, but get no help. Ruined my pathway because who has that amount of cash just laying around? Heartless university.

Began classes on the old campus, which had portable classrooms which were cramped and uncomfortable. Moved to new campus when it was completed and what a huge difference!! Comfortable state-of-art classrooms with all of the latest technology! My professors/instructors were top-notch and the Nursing Program Director was the absolute BEST! I enjoyed attending my classes and all the staff were friendly and helpful. I was very well prepared for my nursing boards, which I passed on my first attempt with the minimum amount of questions. I had great clinical rounds, which totally prepared me for a nursing career. I would highly recommend to anyone considering a career in nursing, to check-out Goodwin College.

I’ve been going here for about 4 years, for the past two years every single computer in the library is slow. Slow to the point where trying to write a paper or even use the computer for basic searches is useless. Using these makes doing 1 assignment take 3x the normal amount of time it should be. Almost every time I go to the library there’s also a new issue besides the fact the computers lag so much. Today I just tried using SIX different computers and not a single one worked. When I asked a staff member she said it’s an IT issue and that all of the computers both upstairs and downstairs are the exact same way and they’ve been having issues with them for a while. If we’re all paying THOUSANDS to go here then why is it taking YEARS to make the library accessible to students

————————
6 month update,
Computers STILL do not work. There’s anywhere from 20-30 in the library that can’t be logged onto and it’s been that way for the past couple years now so who knows when they’ll ever be fixed. Those that don’t work also aren’t labeled. Do you know how annoying it is to sit at 6 different computers trying to log onto them just to find out after that they don’t work? All of the broken computers are set up to LOOK like they’re fine until you sit down, enter the password, and then it’s onto the next computer!

To whom it may concern:

My experience at Goodwin College was wonderful. Goodwin gave me a great platform for higher education and a great foundation for building a great career, which is why I waited to attend grad school there. Goodwin has some great professors which go above and beyond to help their students accomplish their goals... I would recommend Goodwin College to anyone...

Sincerely,
