Biggest mistake I ever made was sending my son with ADHD and learning issues to this school. The middle school teachers targeted him on, of all days, at the Christmas party on the last day of school. I did not know they were doing a secret santa gift exchange and I could have left work to bring something (they knew this) but nobody contacted me. They told my son he could not have treats or watch the movie because he didn't bring a gift. He spent the day under the food table alone and crying and they left him there. Then at the end of the day when they got to play outside until pick up he was told to stand on the wall and "do not move" because he didn't bring a gift. When I arrived to pick him up, I expected to find a happy kid excited about his day. Instead I could see something was VERY wrong because he was afraid to leave the wall even with me calling for him to come to me. He got into the car in a heap, leaned against the window and was obviously traumatized . All he said was "Nobody likes me." He was beyond depressed.

When we got home, he told me everything. But by then school was closed for the holidays. We were all in tears over this and it ruined our Christmas. I had to homeschool him until the end of the year since going back was not ever happening. The teachers denied everything, but when I enrolled him at Anza the next year I ran into some moms who had worked at GEA when all this happened and by then they had quit and pulled their own kids out too. They confirmed that "yeah......that's what they do if they don't like your child".

My son is in high school now and we moved away, but I am still traumatized by this event. He still remembers it but thankfully the details have faded for him.

I should have pressed charges, and I strongly suspect there were probably other things that I never knew about.
