The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, with a strong sense of community and it shows as a lot of the current members have been training under Jeff since he opened his gym.

Love this place! I train there and so does my daughter. I joined the adult classes with no previous knowledge of BJJ and it’s been great from the start. The kid loves her classes too, and gains confidence and skills there. Jeff is an amazing teacher, as are all the other coaches. The culture is very positive and inclusive no matter your abilities or experience, everyone is there to help you get better and have fun. And being female, I must point out the place is very welcoming to women and girls, and there are plenty of female students. It’s also such a beautiful and clean space, nicer than any gym I’ve seen. Come try it, you’ll be glad you did!

I caught the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu bug last fall after taking the Women's Self-Defense at Greenwich Police Department, and was thrilled when Greenwich Jiu Jitsu opened nearby. Coach Jeff Morris is a knowledgeable, patient instructor, who takes the time to ensure that us newbies get the techniques right. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and classmates genuinely want to help each other improve. Can't recommend highly enough - I wish it had been open when my kids were younger!

I highly recommend the Greenwich Jiu Jitsu Academy. I started classes there about 6 months ago and couldn't be happier. Small class sizes mean you always get great instruction, and both the instructors and other students have been very welcoming. As a 45 year old father with two young kids and a demanding job, I wasn't interested in a place where there was a lot of egos and chest thumping. I wanted to learn, have fun and get a great workout, and GJJ has been a great fit for all three.

Reading these great reviews is what pushed me to try GJJ so...it really is a great environment, from teacher to students, i was surprised. Jeff has been so welcoming and helpful, he gives everyone his full attention, by the first 10 minutes of my first class i was hooked, amazing teacher!!!
On top of that, as someone who's been involved in many sports and been to many gyms all over the world, this place is SUPER CLEAN, can't recommend it enough.

Coach Jeff Morris has an extraordinary ability to communicate with the experienced practitioner as well as the novice stepping on the mat for the first time. Jeff wholeheartedly believes in the fundamental principles the art has to offer, and exhibits such in his teaching methods. Jeff creates a comfortable learning environment that emphasizes participants to go at their own pace and have fun in the process! Greenwich Jiu Jitsu is one of the best investments we’ve made. The owner/coach instills and models the values of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with patience, fortitude and positive reinforcement. We have two children with completely different temperaments and they both love learning and the classes at GJJ. The cleanliness of the facility is impeccable, the classes are run in an organized and timely manner, we’ve had a great experience.
