As a parent of two children currently enrolled in the Greenwich Stars youth basketball organization, I give this organization my absolute highest recommendation. We have had a terrific experience with all of the offerings from the Stars (and we have done and continue to do them ALL) - AAU/travel team, weekly clinics, camps, and private lessons year round. We have been particularly pleased with the AAU/travel experience. The organization is competitive and values winning (as demonstrated by its excellent long term track record and success). My child's teams are always among the best in their league (if not the best). We have been pleased with the quality of players that continue to join the Stars as well. As they say - best on best! This is important b/c it allows your child to develop not only in games but in practice too.

John Raybin and his coaches are excellent. They know the game, will get to know your kids, push your kids and most importantly develop your kids' skills and do it with the right temperament and maintain a positive, team oriented culture.

You can contact John day or night to discuss any issues or questions you may have with your child's experience or with respect to the Stars. I have never met someone so incredibly responsive. They also do a great job with travel and scheduling logistics, which any parent of a child that plays AAU/travel sports definitely appreciates (e.g., reminders for EVERY practice and game (or clinic). They also offer a ton of free coaching sessions at certain times of the year for AAU/travel players.

This organization does things the right way.

If you are looking for a program that cares for safety and well being for your child you should find another Westchester/Greenwitch program. As a father of 3, teacher, and camp owner, I will never allow my child to go back to a program that lacks the fundamental understanding of how to deal with children. While many review's are based on playing time, a child not making a team, a coach that is demanding, this is not that. Please understand this is from a parent who Greenwich Stars has asked multiple times to be on their AAU program team and a parent that wants the best for all children and the game of basketball. Please find yourself a program that does that. This is not it.

Run, as a mother of 3 please do not ever send your child to this program. Ask the right questions, have an understanding of rules and protocols that DO NOT exist and please give your child a better experience elsewhere.

I was a player of a the Greenwich stars and this review goes to no hate towards them just my opinion when I first joined the Greenwich stars I thought it as a team that was very competitive and had a lot of players who knew how to play and to win games.Sadly it was no where near that most of the players didnโ€™t even know how to play the game right the first 3 games was pretty even and lost close games and won 1 game but after that it took a bad turn.We started losing by 30 to 50 points and I started losing a lot of confidence because I wasnโ€™t able to have fun or play the game right after that it started getting worse we were losing and losing and eventually one game we lost 77-7 and the coach forfeit because players on the other team were trying to dunk and it was like a rec team vs a actual aau team after this there was a incident that happened but I will not get into that.Other bad things that happened is what the coaches said saying stuff like one of the players are weak or they canโ€™t play against them right. And every play we had in practice we never ran in game.Anyways parents if you want your son to play for a ACTUAL LEGIT AAU TEAM play for a different team this is my opinion you can choose whatever you want. This review is not disrespect to the Greenwich stars or any coaches itโ€™s just my opinion.

As a proud dad, I cannot speak highly enough about the Greenwich Stars basketball league. This program has been an absolute game-changer for our son, both in terms of his development as a player and his growth as a young man.

First and foremost, the quality of the coaching staff is exceptional. The coaches are not only highly skilled and knowledgeable about the game, but they also bring a passion for teaching kids and a genuine care for their well-being. They go above and beyond to ensure that each player is challenged, encouraged, and supported in their individual growth.

Thanks to this incredible coaching, our son has made remarkable progress in his basketball skills, from his shooting and dribbling to his defense and teamwork. But what's even more impressive is how the program has helped him develop as a person. He has learned invaluable lessons about sportsmanship, leadership, and perseverance, and we are so grateful for the positive influence that the Greenwich Stars has had on him.

Moreover, the program has also given our son the opportunity to make friends with other boys who share his passion for basketball. These friendships have extended beyond the court, and we have seen our son's social skills and confidence blossom as a result.

Overall, the Greenwich Stars has exceeded our expectations in every way. We feel incredibly lucky to have found such a wonderful program, and we highly recommend it to any parent looking for a top-notch basketball experience for their child. Five stars all around!
