My bf and I tried the black devil and god fire. We went to the max for spice level. The ramen did not have flavor. It was just spicy which what we asked but there was no combination of flavor and spicy. But the food presentation was very nice.

My family and I visited Hakata Ikkousha Tonkotsu Ramen in Little Tokyo L.A., & as avid foodies from Oregon, we were excited to try a new spot in the city. From the moment we walked in, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, guiding us through the menu and making recommendations since it was our first visit.

The food exceeded our expectations. The ramen was rich and flavorful, perfectly cooked. The broth had a deep, savory taste that made each bite incredibly satisfying. We also tried a few appetizers, which were equally impressive.

Overall, the dining experience was fantastic, earning a solid 10/10 from us. We can’t wait to return and explore more items on the menu. If you’re in Little Tokyo, we highly recommend stopping by.

This place is an absolute scam. Do NOT come here! I came with my kid and an elderly family member to have ramen, and the experience was beyond terrible.

First, when we walked in, this short guy with a bad attitude tried to seat us at the bar by the door. We asked if we could sit at an empty table nearby, and only then did he let us. No greeting, no basic courtesy.

Then, when it was time to order, there was ZERO explanation—nothing. It was our first time there, and he just told us to write down our order ourselves. It took us about 10 minutes to figure everything out.

The ramen? Absolutely disgusting. Super cheap ingredients, a thick layer of grease floating on top, and the meat tasted like it wasn’t even fresh. None of us could finish it.

The restroom was absolutely filthy and disgusting.

Now, here’s where it gets really bad: When we went to pay, this guy OVERCHARGED us. When we pointed it out, he insisted he was right. Only after we went through the bill line by line did he finally redo it—without a single apology. Then, the second bill he brought us was even MORE expensive than the first! Again, he claimed there was no mistake until we made him check it again. Only on the THIRD try did he finally give us the correct total.

At this point, his attitude was straight-up nasty. I was pissed, but I still planned to tip 10%, which I thought was reasonable given his behavior. But the moment he saw me enter 10%, he snatched the POS machine right out of my hand and aggressively told me to “hurry up and pay and get out.”

I called him out on his attitude, and he straight-up said, “This is just how I am.” I was done. I changed my mind on tipping and left him nothing. Paid my bill and got out.

As we were leaving, he kept saying we weren’t welcome and telling us to “get out.” Unbelievable. I have no idea how this place is still in business. The food is bad enough, but the service is beyond disrespectful.

To anyone reading this—CHECK YOUR BILL before you pay!

Certainly one of the better ramen joints in LA.
But their broth can be stronger and the max spicy level should be more spicy.
Overall not bad.

A coworker recommended this place for the Fried Chicken, but everything here is great!

Easily one of the best Ramen spots in Little Tokyo. We got in at 5:30, wrote down our orders, and were served quickly. I had the Black Devil ramen, very rich, spicy and flavorful. We went premium for toppings and it is the perfect amount. The atmosphere is pretty comfortable but fast paced, however we did not feel rushed. Can't wait to come back here and try more!

I think this place is overrated for it's ramen. I got the "#1 best seller" tonkatsu ramen with everything. I was very disappointed. First, my egg was over cooked and wasn't presented like all the eggs seen in other photos. Second, the overall flavor of the ramen wasn't as expected, it was dull and lackluster. Third, the noodles felt cheap given that it costs an extra $2 to upgrade to premium noodles. I've had much better ramen at other places and don't recommend this place. Service wise, there's a form to fill out when placing an order which is convenient but overall service is lacking. I also tried the karage and it was good, but I expected better from this ramen house that supposedly serves authentic, premium ramen.

Really nice ramen spot in Little Tokyo, with interesting strong flavors with customization options.

Getting there:
Parking available in nearby lots of structures. Seated immediately.

Vibe:
Cozy ramen feel with open view to the chefs area, signs in Japanese and small tables around with specials on the walls and on the table. Casual spot to relax vibe with ramen.

Food:
Sheets available for you to fill out your preferred ramen, then the hardness of noodle, strength of flavor, topping options, etc. I really enjoyed the Mentaiko ramen which has an orange hue and is so umami and delicious. The thin noodles at normal hardness has the perfect al dente bite and the flavor is rich, toppings well balanced. My partners ramen is in the rich tonkotsu style and so savory and flavorful. Might be overly strong for some but I am a fan.

Very tasty ramen spot with bold flavors. Wonderful!
