We previously had our child enrolled at another dance studio and left for personal reasons.
When we were ready to join, we knew we wanted a different experience so we took a trial class with Miss Alisha (sp) and LOVED it- and her! The time is twice as long as the other studio we had gone to previously and 25% less monthly, and smaller classes so the students get more one on one time. Highly recommend Hixon Dance!

Everyone at Hixon has been amazing! They do a great job making sure everyone feels welcome and included. My daughter loved the Creative Modern class. It’s great to see the kids have fun while learning. It’s nice they get to use their creativity and have input in some of the choreography as well.

If you are looking for a dance experience that is not your typical competition studio, you should check out Hixon Dance. This is dance training at it's finest- dance taught in a way that enforces the things your child is learning in the classroom and engaging their intellect to foster creativity and innovation as well as getting them moving and learning about their body. All the curriculum is developmentally appropriate. I can't speak highly enough about this studio.

I am really happy we discovered Hixon Dance! We have just completed the summer session of the Super Movers (ages 3-4) class and I was so impressed with Miss Rachael and how she leads the group with enthusiasm, kindness, & patience. I love the focus on collaboration and creativity rather than competition. This is also the only studio I'm aware of that introduces modern dance and choreography classes with younger children which were both areas I absolutely loved exploring in college. I have also really appreciated how the teachers are patient and meet your child where they are, particularly if they are need a long time to warm up or can get easily overwhelmed by groups or get overstimulated easily. Lastly, as a full time working parent with an unpredictable work schedule, I appreciate the ability to do makeup classes on different days if we are unable to attend our regular class time. Highly recommend checking it out if you are looking for a different type of dance education for kids!
