Our 2nd grader went from reading at a 1st grade level at the beginning of the school year to being offered a spot in the Gifted and Talented (GATE) program for 3rd grade. He put in a lot of time and effort, but we also know that a huge amount of that improvement came from the tutoring he received from Horizon Star. Diane was an absolute gem! She has all the qualities of an outstanding teacher and challenged our son just the right amount so that he's kept his interest and drive to learn his reading. She primarily focused on his reading, but helped him with his math skills too. We're thrilled with the progress he's made and are grateful for all of the work that Five Star Tutoring did to help our son this school year. Thank you!!

Customer service is fantastic, the first time I called I was able discuss my child’s needs and we had an amazing tutor In our home tutoring our child the same week. My daughter was tutored by Sara for 10th grade Honors Biology. With Sara’s help, she was able to raise her grade from a C+ the previous trimester to a B+, just .2% from an A-. We are so pleased, Sara gave my daughter confidence that she was not “just bad at Bio” but just needed extra resources and individual time. For all the work Sara did before and after each session, I felt the cost was more than reasonable. Even though they were 1500 miles and a time zone apart, it was easy and efficient to connect online. Would not hesitate to use this tutoring service if my daughter struggles with any subject in the future. Thank you!

As I write this review, I’m smiling with complete satisfaction with Horizon Star Tutoring. I usually don’t give 5 stars but I can’t recall a reason why this professional tutoring company deserves anything less. My first meeting with Samiya made me feel as if I was talking with a close relative who knew my child’s struggle. She showed compassion and empathy towards the hurdles my daughter needed to succeed. Samiya took the time to explain in detail the areas my daughter was lacking and how with her help and my child’s motivation, she and I would see results. She wasn’t concerned about the money but more about seeing a child go from being depressed about failing grades to holding their head up high because they now knew the answers to questions that were challenging before. She was always prompt and mindful of staying on track for each lesson. I never felt there was a moment that my child was not learning and retaining the concepts she was learning. Thank you Samiya...you truly made a difference in my daughters life as well as mine. Keep shining and helping kids, because you are the star that’s on the horizon for us. Samiya was very helpful in finding the right tutor for me. The tutor she found for me, Blake, was able to explain statistics content to me in a way where I could finally understand it. This was a turning point for me and I was able to get an A on my final exam and an A in the class (before I was hanging out in the lower B+ range). Samiya checked in after my first session with Blake to make sure it was a good fit. I highly recommend Horizon Star Tutoring!
