I started taking virtual, acoustic guitar lessons with John during the start of the pandemic. I was truly amazed with how much I was able to learn over Zoom. He has a unique teaching style. He teaches using songs and artist you already love instead of selecting something that is easy to learn. I did not know ANYTHING about playing guitar. Being skilled at something doesn’t always translate into being good at teaching that skill to others. That is definitely “NOT” the case with John Ingrassia. John is both a talented musician and an excellent teacher. My son has taken drum lessons with John, and I have been working with John learning guitar for a number of years now. John is passionate about music and takes an intelligent and individualized approach to each of his students that keeps them engaged and having fun. I first saw John when his band played at one of the Meriden Summer music series several years ago. I was really impressed with his guitar playing. I thought at the time that he was maybe the best guitar player I had ever heard live. He reminded me a lot of Dickie Betts of the Allman Brothers Band. When I found out that he was available for guitar lessons I just had to sign up. I was a little intimidated at first because I knew John was a great player and I had been struggling to learn guitar for quite a few years. But from the very first introduction, John made me feel so comfortable with his laidback style and his wealth of musical knowledge that I felt at ease right away. John is a great teacher and I would highly recommend him to anyone from beginner just learning to play, to the more accomplished player who would like to take their playing to a higher level. John is the man to help.

Restarted lessons with John over a year ago and have really enjoyed it! John customizes lessons to my musical interests and my learning pace.
