Donovan Otcasek

I began working with Nathaniel in the middle of July whilst writing at a summer program at NYU. Working with him was without a doubt the greatest decision I’ve made in my college journey. NYU had been my dream school for 3 years prior to our first meeting, and I was set on getting in no matter what it took. Nathaniel assured me that he would do everything in his power to make this dream come true. This was nice to hear, of course, but what made me realize that Nathaniel was worth every penny was his realism. He never put all the eggs in one basket, rather he dispersed them into many universities, expanding my horizons entirely. His deep insight into every school lifted a weight off my shoulders that I thought I’d be able to remove.

As writing and English buffs, Nathaniel and I clicked immediately. We had humorous conversations about my passions and wants as a writing major, and he related as a dramatic artist/writer with an Ivy League education. Writing was easy with him. I felt comfortable being myself and writing whatever I felt. After our first session, our weekly sessions quickly became something I looked forward to. His skill in the English language (and 3 others at that) only made me feel better about the quality of my essays. He’s truly a master of his craft and one of kind.

My dreams came true thanks to Nathaniel. I got into NYU Tisch as a dramatic writing major just three days ago. I cried when I got in. My family cried. I have no doubt Nathaniel shed a tear as well. His want, nae, his need for his students to succeed is truly baffling to me. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who cares so deeply for the future of my generation. I know that for the rest of my life (and I’m sure many other’s, too) Nathaniel will have my back. All he wants is a bright future for his students, and it’s evident in their outcomes. There were even times when Nathaniel would read my essays outside of our sessions. Kindness and care like that is hard to come across nowadays.

Again, Nathaniel is truly a MASTER of his many professions and someone who transcends the average “9-5”. If given the opportunity to work with this flamboyantly ingenious man, you would be a fool to decline the offer.
