I recalled my first interaction with Ms Tera. We were relocating from Florida and I sent her a message. She called me and I felt a warm welcome. My children have been attending the Kumon of Chesapeake and I have enjoyed how patient she has been with my children. She transitioned during the difficult challenges of Covid and was very dedicated to the children’s education and would make sure that all of the children received their homework assignments.
I also have enjoyed her organization and reviews prior to testing. It gives the children that extra boost of confidence prior to testing. She also thinks of ways to keep the children motivated from giving them rewards and presenting them with awards.
Although my two older children were already attending Kumon, the youngest started at Kumon of Chesapeake and I’ve enjoyed watching her grow and expand her knowledge. Thank you Ms Tera for all that you do.

This has been a great help for our daughter! Only 7 months! It has helped improve her reading and math. Without this help she would not have passed on to second grade. Tera and her team have been understanding and patient with her. Our daughter has not only improved in reading, but is loving to read. She has definitely built up her confidence, and we can see improvements with other things as well. If your child needs help or you think they might need help, go get an assessment. This is well worth the money spent for your child’s education.

The center provides a supportive and engaging learning environment with experienced instructors who tailor lessons to meet each student's needs. The programs are well-structured and effective, leading to significant improvements in both math and reading abilities which have helped my kids.
We have been with this branch for over 6years and I have no complaints.

Ms Tera and her amazing Kumon team have been absolutely instrumental in our daughter’s early academic learning. Prior to her enrollment as a beginning Pre-K student, our daughter identified all the letters and most of the sounds but had not begun putting sounds together to spell/read simple words. In six months, right before her 5th birthday, she began reading at the 1st grade level!!! Our friends and family are blown away—and so are we! Not to mention, every single staff member has been exceptional to work with! Our daughter LOVES reading now and adores coming each week. Beginning Kumon is hands down the best decision we made for our little girl!

My daughter has been enrolled in the Greenbrier location for 4 months. We started because we were concerned about her teacher feedback at the end of her 1st grade year. We are currently enrolled in the reading program and have been very pleased with her progress. She is now a fluent reader! We plan to continue this into her 2nd grade year this Fall so the we can get her ahead.

My daughter is going to kumon since this summer. At beginning we thought that we only need reading. But I'm glad we chose both math and reading. Now she can read with class and can do math without using fingers. Thank you for Ms. Tera and her team!

Terrible experience from start to finish. During my son's initial assessment I spent nearly the whole hour having to listen to incredibly unprofessional conversations amongst the office staff. Following his assessment they were less then polite to my son and despite making the establishment owner aware beforehand they were very put off by his uniqueness. After scheduling an initial appointment the owner rescheduled our appointment to discuss a learning plan for him. Once we finally agreed on a 2nd appointment due to the cancelation on her end she wasn't prepared for the 2nd and was "unable" to move forward with the meeting. I was told she'd be back in touch to reschedule by end of day. It's been over a week and I have yet to hear back. I feel instead of being transparent about being intimidated by his special needs she made the decision to just ignore us. It was an incredibly unprofessional and disheartening experience.
