I have seen tremendous gains with my sons as it relates to reading. One was lacking motivation and struggled to connect with the joy of reading. The other is in the beginning stages of reading and has grasped so much knowledge and is improving weekly. My child is dyslexic, and we started Kumon in the 4th grade. After a year and a half in the program, the improvement has been amazing!

Initially, I wasn’t sure if Kumon would work for a child with dyslexia or if more individualized tutoring would be necessary. However, Kumon has given my child a solid foundation and incredible confidence in math.

Since starting, my child’s math scores have improved significantly, jumping from a MAP score of 41% to a recent 84% on the STAR Math test. It’s been such a relief to see this progress! He's in 6th grade now and says math is "EASY"!

Thank you to the Kumon team and Crystal (the center director/owner) for your support and encouragement. We are thrilled with the results! I now recommend Kumon to any parent looking for math tutoring for their child.

If you are looking to help your child build strong foundational skills in math and reading, Kumon Decatur is the place to go. Kumon provides a structured foundation in math and reading fundamentals and ensures your kiddo has true knowledge and a real grasp on subject concepts. The staff is very helpful led by Crystal Lewis. Ms. Lewis (who is wonderful) will provide regular check-ins so you are up to date on how your child is learning and pacing. I highly recommend choosing Kumon Decatur. You and your smart child will be happy you did!

She says everyone at Kumon are very very nice and calm. As a mom, I am so greatfull that I found Kumon for my daughter she is excelling greatly!! Crystal Lewis, the instructor and owner at the Decatur location, is so hands on with her staff and students. If you didn’t know who she was you would think she was a tutor as well and not the owner😃. The tutors and/or instructors are excellent with keeping me informed on my daughters progress and are always eager to listen to any questions or concerns I may have and very proactive with all parents and students. They had an awards ceremony and all the students were acknowledged which I thought was so terrific. They are very organized, the facility is very neat and clean. As a parent I enjoy bringing my daughter to Kumon each week. Thank you so much to all the staff at Kumon Decatur for your consistency, dedication and hard work😃😃

The Decatur location of Kumon is absolutely phenomenal. My children were not at grade-level when they entered the 2nd grade in school. I enrolled them in Kumon at the beginning of the school year and by the end of the school year, they were at grade-level. Prior to Kumon, one of my sons told me “Mom, I am not good at school”. Last week, he came home excited and said “Mom, I got 100% on all of my work this week”. Watching my children’s self-esteem soar from their experience at Kumon has been remarkably rewarding.

We even continued Kumon during the summer to ensure that they did not experience the “summer slide” in their academic progress. I am continuing their Kumon enrollment to allow them to increase even further and progress to above grade-level.

I am a professional educator so I had very high expectations for Kumon. They have exceeded my expectations. They provide the structure and consistency to allow children to master the materials without being overwhelmed. They monitor their progress continually and make adjustments whenever necessary to ensure that the children are advancing. The management and staff of the Decatur location are absolutely wonderful. The owner is kind, approachable, knowledgeable, helpful and goes above-and-beyond. She customizes a learning experience that is optimal for your child.

My only regret is that I did not learn about Kumon until my kids were in the 2nd grade. If I had known earlier, I would have enrolled them before kindergarten. But, thankfully I discovered them from talking to some fellow parents and they have had a tremendous impact upon my children’s learning.
