My son started Kumon September 2024.
First few weeks weren’t easy. He was shy to enter the classroom because he didnt have any school experiences before. Thanks to miss Seema, she welcomed my son and helped him adjust. She used her magic techniques to make him feel safe and make him understand that he is responsible for his homework. Soon he got used to routine and now he walks to classes all prepared and happy. Now, three months after I see how his math skills developed to a level much above his 3 years of age. I am grateful to Kumon program and specially to miss Seema for being a professional at her job.

I was sent here in 2014 over the course of a year and the "tutor" refused to acknowledge or teach us anything.
They made me and my friend take an exam while we were sophomores in high school. The exam consisted of "complex" multiplications that don't really test the child's ability but the speed they can solve, and after a very short period of time they told our parents that we need help. This is most certainly a scam that profits off good parents who want to do right by their child's education and future, however if you truly care about your child, your money and your time you will not send your child here.
The "teaching" consisted of taking an exam, then being given "homework" that is really just a long booklet that drills repetition. They do nothing that you as a parent couldn't and shouldn't be able to for free. Do NOT send your kids here, both my friend and I grew up pretty dang well and have great careers in math and sciences as engineers and Kumon shot our confidence and held us back.

My kids have enjoyed the classes and are very happy with Ms.Seema. She is strict, but we love her.

I used to come here for reading and writing. Coming to Kumon has helped me a lot and it may be a little tough because it's everyday with no break but it works and really improved my skills.

Kumon is perhaps the best extra curricular investment that one could enroll their child into. The reading and math is formulated in such a way that the child learns quickly, improving by leaps and bounds every week! Mrs.Seema is an incredible instructor! Her mastery of instruction ensures that the students are getting 100% of the curriculum down pat. You will notice a huge difference in your child's learning! Take the opportunity in front of you!

We’ve been with Kumon, East Lyme for almost five years. Under Miss Seema’s leadership, our son has accelerated in Math and English. He has gained immense confidence in each subject and has accelerated in his overall school studies. The program made our son become an independent learner, unafraid of testing and eager to overcome challenging concepts, specifically math problems. Miss Seema offers immeasurable guidance and support. During Covid, Kumon kept our son learning. We are very grateful and appreciative for the opportunity to be a part of Miss Seema’s Kumon classroom.

At Kumon, emphasis is placed on building a strong foundation. Mrs. Seema ensures that students grasp fundamental concepts thoroughly before moving on, allowing them to develop a solid understanding of the subject matter. This focus on mastery has had a transformative effect on our child's academic performance.
Regular feedback and progress updates from Mrs. Seema have been invaluable. Her open communication with both students and parents creates a supportive learning environment. She offers valuable insights, identifies areas for improvement, and provides guidance for continued growth.
The supplemental materials available at the center complement the lessons perfectly. The thoughtfully designed worksheets and reading materials enhance comprehension and critical thinking skills, reinforcing concepts taught in class.

First I would like to say the rating reflects Ms. Seema as an instructor moreso than the Kumon approach. From my experience, Ms. Seema will help your child form the tools, self discipline, and develop a strong foundation. In regards to Kumon, like any educational system, it has its pros and cons. At a minimum, it is a repetitive and structured methodology to build a mathematical and reading foundation.
