We had a bad weed species imported into our isolated neighborhood with some shoulder fill material added along our resurfaced roadsides. When I called to get a control recommendation, Rita promptly returned my call to discuss our issue and suggest the best solution.

I very much appreciate this Larimer County service that has hard-working crews working around the county plus individualized expertise that is only a telephone call away.

This is a follow-up review on the same contaminated shoulder fill issue. In addition to the bindweed we dealt with a year ago, we discovered and LCWD identified a new watch list grass spp that also came in with the same batch of contaminated fill.

Once again, we got good advice (this time from Ms Emily Yannarella) on weed id, control, USDA literature and a good CDA contact who was also helpful.

Unfortunately, Ms Yannarella doesn’t work outside the office.

We are trying to control the first-sighting in Larimer county of a watch-list weed (yellow bluestem) with just telephone and email contact. Before this aggressive new spp escapes our neighborhood (and possibly infests the adjacent Cathy Fromme Prairie open space), we would be grateful for some on-site field support.
