The trip was a bit out of the ordinary for me since I am from the city. Lots of hills with hidden views and ditches. You can easily crash or veer off road if you aren't paying attention to where you're going. Very country with no gas stations in site (that I can recall) so fill up before you go.

Upon almost arrival, the sign displayed will say something about a gym etc. When you get so far down, you'll see the sign for the LightHouse. I never saw anything pertaining to a "gym".

Staff seems peaceful and friendly. Place is clean although there is only one restroom for women and one restroom for men. Good prices on snacks and beverages for visits. There is no food so eat before you come.

The residents/children seem well behaved - it's almost scary, because they all have a reason for being there. Therapy seems to be working.

Thus far, no complaints.

Im 40 I was here when I was 17 years old, an it helped me but it was more like a brainwashing camp. Act robotic, and fake it to make it! They put me in a box for hours and just sat there an starred at me. I was on discipline level a lot cause I said bad words to peers who checked me lol! Some of it was good alot was bad!

Staff in the therapy section and school section rock. Having come from a family where having a GED or no education dampens your spirit, this place managed to take the pieces I held onto and invigorate a sense of belonging in me no one else had. I learned how to reach for the impossible here, and the impossible found itself empowering Me with a High School Diploma that I earned at the age of 16.

I was in Paint Creek in 2008 and I can say that this place changed my morals and beliefs for the better! Along with that it helped me be able to focus on the break down of my thoughts and control my actions better! The staff members were good people who treated like someone who deserved another shot at life

Can anyone tell me if this was a camp that Eastwood High School used for Band Camp? The property looks to be about the same as it did in the 80's, I remember 4 long bunk camp buildings in a row and then the cafeteria we ate was up the hill a little, I remember the grass field we would march where the new building is now, but there use to be a covered building on the side of a hill that had bench seating and a stage? Just wondering if anyone knew if this was used for Band Camp.
