Lion’s Share Family Services is exceptional. I highly recommend them.
With very short notice, Steve was able to arrange and coordinate a move from an apartment in a senior independent living facility in New Haven to an apartment in an assisted living facility in West Hartford, CT, The move could not have been smoother. Steve set up the new apartment so it was arranged similarly to the old one (his suggestion), and worked closely with the staff at both facilities.
Steve also transported my cousin, who bonded with Steve right away, from a rehabilitation facility to the new place, and got him settled. Without asking, Steve checked in on him the next day.
Steve assured me that there was no need for me to come into town, and he was absolutely right! He kept me informed along the way, taking care of every detail and making me aware of ways to make things easier for my cousin. And the best part is that he is available to assist my cousin with anything that he needs, which is especially important when family lives out of town.
I cannot say enough about how truly wonderful Steve is.

He was attuned to what I needed and what would help; putting me at ease from the very beginning. Our family is forever grateful to Steve and the wonderful service that he provided by acting as caretaker/companion for our Mom on our daughter's wedding day. Our Mom is fiercely independent while also struggling with health related issues. My Family’s Experience:

In February 2022, I was notified that my elderly brother-in-law had suffered a fall at home. He was taken to the emergency room and transferred to a nursing facility. The prognosis was that he could no longer live alone at home.

Since my wife and I are his only relatives and we live out of state, this chain of events became a logistical nightmare for our family. The size and scope of the task to transition my elderly brother-in-law to a suitable assisted living facility was large and complex.

The task involved selecting and scheduling healthcare providers, managing contractors, coordinating multiple moves, sorting through years of documents, preparing a neglected property for sale and interacting with my elderly brother-in-law.

The assisted living facility that we selected highly recommended and introduced Steve to us. Accepting this recommendation proved to be the best decision. Steve handled and adapted to every issue that surfaced including extensive property damage from a burst pipe. Managing the repair of the property after the burst pipe required coordination of multiple contractors and insurance requirements. It easily doubled the size of the project. Throughout the process, Steve kept me informed about the status of all the work.

All of Steve's efforts were of great benefit to my elderly brother-in-law and our family. Under Steve’s direction, my elderly brother-in-law successfully transitioned to an assisted living facility, his property was fully restored in a way that added value and sold. Even after the project completion, Steve continues to check up on my brother-in-law regularly and updates me on his status.

Based on my personal experience, Steve Lamantini, Lion’s Share Family Services, is an ideal resource for elderly that need support for more than traditional caregiver services. Choosing Steve was the best decision I made to support my elderly brother-in-law and family.

We met Steve while my Dad was in an assisted living facility. We were looking for someone to be with my Dad on our daughter's wedding day. Prior to the wedding, Steve would see my Dad and take him out on rides and places of interest to my Dad. Dad very much enjoyed his visits with Steve. The wedding was a great day and Dad enjoyed himself immensely and we thank Steve for this. Our hope was that Steve would continue to visit my father after the wedding. Unfortunately, my father passed away soon after the wedding.

We were lucky to find Steve who has proven to be a great care taker for my 97 year old father, who wants to remain in his home, wheelchair bound. We live out of state, but feel safe in knowing Dad is in great hands. He is compassionate, super-attentive and thinks of my Dad’s needs foremost. My Dad thinks of him as a compatriot, because he has built a wonderful friendship based on respect and enjoyment of life. I recently had surgery and hired Steve to help the first few days with daily activities and chores. He is kind, dependable, punctual, and a great cook and conversationalist.
