An amazing music camp for an incredibly wide range of abilities, from the novice to the incredibly advanced. The instructors are most supportive, accommodating and generous with their knowledge and expertise. All days are filled with opportunities learn about, create, perform and listen to jazz music. I have attended 5 of the last 7 years.

Great camp for learning and improving your child's jazz music capabilities as well as building confidence in performing solos and playing in small ensembles. The camp director Don Braden is a very positive, talented musician who knows how to connect with the campers as well as create a great atmosphere for learning. I highly recommend the camp.

My son is attending for the second year this summer. The camp is absolutely incredible. They are extremely organized and the days are highly structured with theory/master classes, combos twice a day, special topics etc. The faculty are not just professional jazz musicians, they are among the most elite Jazz professionals and educators out there. I attended a faculty concert the other night (which are open to the public) and I was blown away. The school campus is perfect for the camp, very safe and comfortable for the kids, and the TPACC is beautiful and a fitting venue to highlight the kids and this amazing music. Nice coed group. I can hear my child improving week to week so obviously when I hear the weekly performances. This place is A++++.

Amazing camp for everyone ! Campers are paired with others at their level.
My son was able to play with wonderfully talented and accomplished kids.
The best of the best are faculty at Litchfield! This is the best experience for an aspiring young “cat”.

Expensive for what’s offered. The dorms are basic and there was no air conditioning. We weren’t forewarned that there was major construction outside of the dorms that began a 6:00am (I sent her to camp to have fun!). There are no planned day activities other than lessons and combos. The lessons were good. The skill level in my daughter’s combo varied too widely and the combo jam sessions are the greater part the day (3 hours!). The concerts at the end of the week were good.

If you are looking for a wonderful music camp experience this is it. My son has met inspiring instructors and made life long friends all while taking a deep dive into the study of Jazz. There is nothing like the LJC experience out there!
