We felt so blessed to have found Karen and her team at LCS. My son has been attending dyslexia tutoring for the last four year. We have been so thrilled with the progress he has made in his reading and comprehensive skills. His reading sessions with Karen have filled in the gaps of his traditional education.

I first called because I was concerned my son had dyslexia. She emailed me information on dyslexia so I could learn more about it. Karen also reviewed the different types of testing and evaluations that were available and which ones she thought would be beneficial for my son. He also has ADHD and we did Executive Functioning Therapy once a week with Karen. She tailored all the classes for my son and worked 1:1 with him. It took time but he improved so much. I would recommend Karen and her company for both dyslexia and EFT.

My son has been coming to tutoring here for about 18 months now and it has made a world of difference. He was not reading anywhere close to grade level when he started and now he is almost right along with his peers. He just took a benchmark at school and his teacher said that reading/comprehension was his highest mark! They really care about their students and the teachers and staff are amazing!

Our child has been a student with Literacy Consulting Specialties for 3 years (in her 4th year now). It has been a godsend to her and us, her parents. We have the utmost confidence in Mrs. Haggard and her staff as professionals and tutors. They are clearly invested in wanting to help those who struggle, to learn to read - and do it well. We have chosen to view the expense as a crucial investment in our child's future. Our child deals with severe dyslexia and other learning difficulties. It is a struggle for her, but she can now read on her level and the farther she gets into Barton (her reading curriculum), the better she gets. 3 years ago, she cried when asked to read. 2 years ago, she sat down in the floor of a library- overwhelmed with the thought of having to pick and read a book. Today, she is reading a book of her choosing (a Young Adult/teen) independently, as part of her schoolwork. She still doesn't want to read for pleasure, but the fact that she chose a book, reads it, and tells me about it, gives me all the assurance we need to know LCS is helping equip her well with a vital skill in our world - to be literate.
