Highly recommend Mach5Aviation. The team there helped me check off my highest bucket list item – Private pilot. Thanks to Mach5 and the Team I was well prepared for my final examination.
The operation is top notch from the office/operations management, aircraft maintenance, flight logistics and coordination, and instruction.
There is a Mach 5 difference and I immediate noticed it after transferring from another flight school mid-way through my training.
I was fortunate to get paired with David Wells who did a perfect job of helping me reach my full potential. I just had fun flying at Mach 5, David, and will continue to fly with Mach5 in the future.
Auburn Airport location provides good vibes, valuable flight experience as it is located in the base of the foothills with access to the Sacramento valley, and up front views/access to various aircraft.
The mechanics are amazing and provide great exposure to maintenance and repair being an open shop right next to the office. This helped with my understanding of the aircraft and its systems. The planes are very well maintained and it is very clear where each plane sits with regards to maintenance and repair.
Mach 5 has the highest standards for instruction. There are numerous layers and checks within the process. For example, I was required to complete thorough flight reviews and marks after each flight which are recorded in my file and reviewed by chief instructors. At various points in the training I flew with a chief check instructor for sign off to the next stage. This greatly increased my confidence moving forward through various phases of training.
Thank you to Mach 5 and David Wells my CFI for helping me be a confident and safe pilot as I move forward in my training.

Friendly staff and lots of CFI's to get you started in your flying journey. Planes can be a hit or miss on how well they will work for your continued certification needs. Sometimes there are schedule issues that can be frustrating but that goes with any flying program.

Hours of operation can accommodate any pilot so you can cram hours for a certification or take it nice and slow if you are flying for fun. Overall a good location for those in the area looking to fly or rent to take to the skies.

A great place to learn how to fly. I have been ripped off or taken advantage of at different flight schools in the Sacramento area. All of the instructors at Mach 5 actually want you to succeed. I have been to over 7 flight schools, and this one is the best. It is a little pricey, but worth every penny. I love everyone that works there. Just amazing people. 💙🛫

If your choosing a flight school this one is one of the best. Everybody is very kind and respectful, the instructors are outstanding. This place is a 10/10. Everybody is very professional and helpful. Planes are very well maintained. If you need a flight school pick this one it’s everything you need in a flight school! They walk you through a full plan for how to get the certificates you want to get. They want you to succeed and you do. Just want to say thanks for making my flight school future understandable and easy to understand!

I took a few lessons here last year. Unfortunately, due to financial reasons I had to hold back and put off my training until college. However, the staff here is very friendly and kind. Everyone is really helpful. This is definitely a school you should try out for flight lessons. I’ll be going to Western Michigan University and going through flight school there starting this fall, but I know when I’m back in the summers I’ll fly at Mach 5 and stay in the loop. Great school!!

I started going to Mach 5 when I was younger and have finally gotten around to having consistent lessons and I’m so happy I stuck with this place! It’s very welcoming and they make you feel so comfortable. The lessons are in depth and concise but also very fun! Great place for pilots of all ages.

left schooling here due to being bounced around with instructors since they kept leaving this place for new jobs. After the third time and third placement flight (free money for them) I had enough, squared up my account and then left. 2 YEARS later they send me a friendly 'reminder' I owe them over 100 dollars for not showing up to a class I didnt schedule...

for the sake of God dont go here. Go to literally any other flight school. Some of the instructors are great but the business itself is ridiculous

I have attended this school for couple months and overall had a great experience until my last flight lesson on 3/11/20. My CFI mistreated me badly by scolding me, bad mouthing me how bad student I am, spinning and twisting recklessly airplane with anger which made me sick to my stomach and almost threw up my lunch. The way he was flying made me dizzy and disoriented and then he said “your airplane “ I was so upset by his behavior I started to cry and told him to stop his behavior. I tried to file complaint with John(Manager) but he yelled at me and didn't want to listen to me and he said he will hang up on me while I was on the phone with him:( Horrible experience will never come back to this place again or recommend to anyone, because something goes wrong with you it will be used against you.
