My husband and I started at MadCity Kenpo a few months ago, not quite sure what to expect being first timer’s, and we have absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is welcoming, and the instruction from both Issac and Grace is outstanding. They are professional, patient, and truly great at what they do. Since starting, our son has joined as well, and we can’t say enough positive things about our experiences. The training has not only been fun and engaging but has also given me more confidence in my ability to defend myself. If you’re considering trying Kenpo, this is the place to be!

MadCity is fantastic!!!! Myself, my wife, and one of our sons all go here. Isaac and Gracie are both incredible instructors and the instruction is customized to you so that you are the most effective at self defense. For myself, a 50 year old guy….thats important since I don’t move like I did in my twenties. It is a great family environment as well as a safe environment which is a plus for me since my wife and son attend there too. The individual sessions are great and you not only learn the how…but also the why behind what you are learning to do which helps you better understand the importance of each technique and the application. I highly recommend MadCity to any one of any age. A bonus is not only the individual sessions you get but all of the groups they offer throughout the week you can attend to get in more practice and a deeper understanding of what they teach.

I’ve been training at MadCity Kenpo for about two years now, I think? And it has been a truly enriching experience. Initially, I looked into martial arts due to growing concerns about not only my own personal safety but also that of my close friends amid political tensions. I've always been interested in martial arts, but I never had the chance to pursue it until now.

Training with Issac and Gracie has been exceptional. Their dedication and patience, especially considering my recent health challenges, have made every session enjoyable and valuable. They provide constant positive encouragement and remind me that everyone has tough/bad days, which has kept me motivated and confident even when I’ve felt like giving up.

MadCity Kenpo offers flexible scheduling with options for virtual sessions via Skype or Zoom, which is incredibly convenient.(Especially since I'm sick all time 😅) I'd much rather have lessons in person, though.

And Group sessions? I absolutely adore Group! They're not only a fantastic workout but also a great learning experience, with valuable tips and I always feel so accomplished after. Once you get to join in on sparring its an extra layer of fun as well, and skill-building.

Overall, MadCity Kenpo is a fantastic choice for self-defense training. The family-run environment, engaging workouts, and empowering techniques make it a standout option. I highly recommend MadCity Kenpo—you won’t regret it! Even if you're worried about your health, age or physical limitations, call them! No one's gonna snatch you out of a Wal-mart parking lot after learning Kenpo from Isaac and Gracie. 😉

I have been training here for almost two years. Gracie and Isaac are great teachers! They are both very patient and kind. I love private lessons because I have more scheduling flexibility and I can learn at my own pace. Highly recommend!

I am ecstatic for the opening of this local Madison “gem”! Gracie and Isaac truly go above and beyond. They are both, very knowledgeable and very passionate about the self-defense style that they teach.

If you are expecting this to be a “wax on, wax off” type of karate, think again! The personalized lesson was practical and relatable without having to paint a fence. And a HUGE bonus, both instructors are patient and encouraging! It’s absolutely all you could ask for in when it comes to learning self-defense!

Isaac teaches practical self defense techniques and is very kind,positive and patient. I also love the flexibility he offers when it comes to scheduling classes.
