If you're looking for a top-notch rowing club for your kids, look no further than Maritime. The coaches are world class and while doing an excellent job of teaching discipline & hard work they know how to mix in just the right amount of fun that all the kids absolutely love it. Our son’s confidence has gone through the roof, appreciates the genuine team comradery and is probably in the best shape of his life. Maritime truly "blows the competition out of the water".

It’s easy to start liking to row at Maritime Rowing. Good friendly staffs/coaches and good facility. My daughter started rowing over 2 years ago, like the friends she made there, enjoy the water/scenery , learning the techniques, being part of a team sport, and not sure if she fully appreciate the warmup exercises before each session. One thing I like and I hope the coaches would keep doing is to know each rowers’ skill level and sort them to the same boat when training.
I can see my daughter keep rowing there, perhaps until she goes to college.

Run by the very best, for the very best - you would be hard pressed to find a better collection of coaches and rowers anywhere. Maritime Rowing Club marks an intersection of experience, discipline, and talent in a culture that has created many national champions and multiple Olympic athletes. Yan's club has blossomed from humble beginnings through incredible hard work and dedication that characterizes the overall attitude of those who work and train there alike.

It's difficult to discuss my experience without sounding disingenuously positive, because I am unable to think of a single criticism of the program now that the new boathouse is running at full steam. If you join this community - this family - you'll have all the tools (tangible and intangible) right at your fingertips to go as far with the sport as you want. The only limiting factor is the amount of work you put in.

Personally: I started as a lost middle-schooler. Over the course of five years I was shown (not just TOLD) that I could be fit, then I that I could compete, then that I could be good at rowing, then that I could be a serious competitor, then that I could be a national champion. I could not and still cannot imagine what my life would be like without the time I've spent with Maritime because of the good it has done for me, both as an athlete and as a person.

You're likely reading this because you're considering getting involved. Whether you're just discovering the rowing world or are already an experienced athlete, my advice is the same: Do it.

Have had a great experience with the MRC adult learn-to-row program. We get out on the water every time and in a wide variety of boats, with attentive and expert coaches supporting us every step of the way.

I’ve been a member of Maritime Rowing since my daughter started coxing with New Canaan crew in 2002. It’s been a sincere pleasure to see the club grow into the state-of-the-art facilities that we occupy today, having known it from its humble beginnings.
In the twenty plus years I’ve been rowing at Maritime, I’ve been coached by world-class coaches, met good friends, and stayed fit along the way.
I would recommend the club for any rower, new or experienced looking for a down-to-earth club where masters both receive coaching (something unusual for us old guys!) and enjoy a community of other active people.

My son has been with the Maritime Rowing Club for 4 years and our experience has been spectacular! Jack started in the Learn to Row program and dedicated himself year round to training and development. Over the last year, Jack has competed in Novice, JV and Varsity boats at regattas in the Northeast, at Nationals in Florida and recently, the Head of the Charles in Boston. The coaching has been challenging and development of technique is evident. The MRC communication is excellent through the Sports You app. There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer and get engaged with MRC, other parents and at regattas. The culture and quality of kids and their families has been so good for our son. He has made lifelong friends while he excels at this sport and dedicates himself to becoming a better rower. We are so incredibly grateful for the MRC community and leadership. Go MRC!!!

The owners, coaches, and facility are phenomenal. Can't think of a better place to learn to row or to train and complete at any level. They manufacture Olympians here and have a legacy of excellence in rowing. Absolutely recommend to anyone that just wants to try out rowing all the way to competing at the highest levels in the sport.
